Thug lit is hotties, gangsta, and drug deals. There is very little room to mess with that formula. And that is why you have all kinds of people writing books. Bad, sloppy books.
Unfortunately, yes.

However, I think as more authors such as Lori and yourself shatter the expectations of what constitutes A-A erotica, a new batch of up and coming authors will find an audience.

Hi Teddy,

Glad you could make it. I hope you got my response.

That's funny and so true! I worked at an elementary school last year and I was terrified that somebody was going to find out I wrote erotica. Please, turns out nearly all of the teachers were into it!

Added to mine too, the only downside to this awesome discussion here is that I always leave wanting to buy a book or two, lol

One can hope. And that's why I included three student works in Can't Help. There are some amazing voices out there that deserve to be heard.

Is this book sold on EF? I couln't find it either.

You should keep her focused. My brother rights brilliant poetry but for some reason he just doesn't want to write anymore. All of that talent gone to waste. As long as your daughter has a passion for it I say keep being pushy because somtimes we tend to get lazy no matter how much we may love to do something. You being pushy will actually just end up being motivation.

It's about encouraging the younger writers. Not only to write but to read. Everything.

I'm curious. How many of you find yourself experimenting with some of the things your read about in erotic literature?

When Lori told you to JUST WRITE and don't worry about the grammar or punctuation etc..etc..She knew what she was talking about..and that only made the experience so much fun. I would write at during the midnight hours while listening to some soothing soul ballads from Maxwell to Jill Scott to Marvin Gaye..and just be free.

Oh yes I have added both of them. I was speaking of Weapons of Mass Seduction and Sangria Seduction, also the Pherohas (spelling) book someone had mentioned.

I can't recommend Do Not Disturb enough. It's definitely my absolute favorite erotica book at this moment. Can't go wrong getting Do Not Disturb.

I think, it was a little intimidating at first for a poet to write prose for the first time. I wanted him to forget form and give the story the substance I knew he had in him and we just cleaned it up later. Old skool editing!

lol Oh now that's an interesting question–especially for a mom of a preteen who isn't quite ready for her to be interested in sex.

I would wait until she was an adult, but otherwise encourage her to write whatever she's passionate about.

Cant forget that. It's a shame how some think reading is a chore.
