I'm curious as to what you guys prefer to read: a collection of stories by several authors, or one novel written by a single author/s?

Alison, since we have you here... would you care to share your inspiration for Red Hot Erotica? I know you say in your introduction that the heat makes you crazy (and who doesn't love the color red for inspiring hot fantasies?), but what made you spin that idea into an anthology of different kinds of heat-inspired stories?

Short stories by several authors. It's so much better for us in so many ways.

Hey KW,

Red Hot Erotica was the second in my heat "trilogy." First up was Heat Wave, then RHE, then Playing with Fire. I love how authors take a concept like "heat" and run with it.

I don't *always* do theme books—but I am drawn to the concept. Tying a slew of stories together with a single strand.

XXX,
AT

Thanks so much! ;-) Very glad to have you here and "meet" someone who enjoys my writing.

Have you had an opportunity to read Red Hot Erotica?

I was thinking about this the other day: Have you ever done a theme book around sex toys? That'd be really hot.

One of the first anthologies I was published in was "Sex Toy Tales" (Down There Press). My collection "Batteries Not Included," from back in the 90s *must* have featured sex toys. But I'm a little hazy about the TOC right now...

I think AT's Bondage on a Budget was one of my very first anthologies I read and I loved the idea of all of the common things around the house that could become toys.

My guy and I always hit up the Home Depot for little thingies. Creativity strikes when we see all the shiny snap hooks and things

Hello. Didn't read the book, (might pick it up at some point) but the idea of writing erotica somewhat fascinates me. I'm a horror junkie myself, but something about erotics seems even more so forbidden and tantalizing than just a blood and guts massacre.

I guess I have a few questions:

1. How did you get into writing erotica and how did you feel about it at first?
2. What steps do you take to write it and where do you get your inspiration?
3. Do you have any hints, tips, or tricks to pass on to new erotica writers?

Hmmm....You should totally make a newer one. Would possibly *kill* to read it.

Oh, if you like hardware stores, you must read this story in B is for Bondage by Mathilde Madden called Pervertable. It's very good!

I just wrote a post, but it took me too long and I got signed out! I went and looked and both collections are from the 90s. I wonder if anyone *has* put together a book of sex toys stories based in the new millennium!
