I've had about 10, and I say about because I feel like I'm leaving one or two out. One night stands, even when they are good tend to fade into oblivion after a while so I don't know if am remembering every last encounter. To be safe it'd be better to round up to 12 or maybe 13.

I also need to say that it's really heterosexist for people to dismiss count oral sex as "not counting"...like there MUST be penetration for it to count. I don't like it, nopenopenope, don't like it one bit.

I've also been surprised at the comments that have come off as more than a little judgmental. How many people someone has had sex with doesn't necessarily imply any kind of character attributes. I would imagine of all places that the EF forums would be a place that understood that.

only 2 as far as intercourse goes, 3 if you count oral. passed up some opportunities when i was younger, and sometimes just didnt try hard enough or know the girl was willing till it was to late. a few minor regrets but nothing major. itd be nice if i had had more partners, but im happily in a serious relationship (almost 2 years) that I don't plan on ending. I don't think the number really matters. Because you could have sex with 50 different people and still suck at it. Conversely, you could have just one partner and be spectacular.

I've had five, which doesn't strike me as being either a good or bad thing. I'd love to say that I'm neutral about people's numbers in general, but I am aware of my own judgmental feelings when I hear a number above 15 or 20 or so.

I have had one partner, and I think normal is so subjective - it really depends on the person and their own feelings about their sexuality. If they love to have sex with many different partners - than thats normal for them. If someone wishes they could be more sexual - but are too afraid - thats not normal. (get what I'm saying?)

Now as for me - I happened to start dating my man while I was still a virgin and we both took each other's virginity. I kind of like the idea that we are the only ones that we've had - however I wouldn't object to having more than one partner if this relationship didn't work out. But - I am very satisfied with my current man and have no interest in looking for someone else.

Mine's convoluted - my best guy friend in HS who was my First, an ex-boyfriend that I got back with for a one-night-stand not too long after that (we didn't have sex until two years after we broke up LOL), and another guy friend that happened to be there (neither of us were into it, despite trying).

Here's the convoluted part - I am not counting my husband of ten years because we NEVER did anything sexual, not even oral. I think he once caught me masturbating, but he quickly left the room. I know, I'm finding it harder to justify why I stayed with him except to say that my self-esteem was lower than the stock market.

So I recently got divorced, and - lo and behold - I'm back with my best guy friend who more than made up for my inexperience by his own experience and is teaching me. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm having fun. Who needs quantity when the quality is where it's at?

There is no normal for any one person. Each person has to determine what the appropraite number of sexual partners is for their lifestyle. As long as people are having safe, consensual sex, what does the number really mean anyway?

I am proud to say that ive only had one partner he was first boyfriend,my first kiss the first guy i ever went on a date with and the guy i really wanted. weve been together 5 years and still doing great. i made him wait a year untill i was 18 before we had sex. i say i am proud becuase i am proud of myself for doing what i wanted to-wait to have sex with someone i trusted. i feel sad at how many girls nowdays have sex for all the wrong reasons (to get a guy to like them,becuase they think he will be with them forever if they do,so they can feel good thinking he will love her more then his previous girlfriend) i mean theres nothing wrong with having sex for sex if thats what you seriously want like my sister always says she just wants sex then crys her eyes out when its nothing more then that. it makes me angry that she doesnt appreciate herself more and respect herself more and say "no im not sleeping with you i want a relationship first" i also respect when i women says all she wants is sex and is honest with herself about it. but theres so many girls out there that feel they have to sleep with a guy before they can have a relationship. hey if your looking for a relationship says so if the guy says screw that then hes not even worth sleeping with (unless hes really cute!) I think I'd be the one with a 100+, or one of them anyway. I lost track a long time ago, but averaging it out on a monthly basis was easy. So, way more than a hundred I'm thinking.

I only became active almost 2 years ago, so it's only been 1 and if we get married it will stay 1. We aren't interested in being with anyone other than each other. I really don't mind either - I am happy with only being with 1 and that it is with someone I care a lot for.

I don't really think the number is a big deal, like someone said earlier as long as people are smart about it.
