This is NOT a lubricant.

I once had a partner coat a condom with some kind of oil-based skin lotion (I had no idea what it was at the time), and it made a huge mess, not to mention that the oil in the stuff isn't at all safe with condoms. Thankfully there wasn't any kind of a bad reaction or condom breakage, but I made sure to suggest using a "real" lube after that!

Oh my god, thanks for making me laugh. I would never do that!
12/29/2012
No I never have

Lol what about saliva? Or does that count as lube?
01/14/2013
I've used vaseline...worked out ok!
01/24/2013
I don't even want to talk about it. lol

I've started using coconut oil, it's lovely.

ugh yes, I friggin used baby oil when I was a cam girl. Used it for a week or two straight. Ended up giving myself the worst yeast infection in the world. I was miserably itchy for almost a week. NEVER AGAIN lol.

That's what I use too! Do you know if it's safe for toys? I assume it's not safe for silicone, right?

I LOVE this stuff. I've also read that it's great for balancing the vagina's pH, but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I've used olive oil and didn't have any problem. I find that the anxiety that there WILL be a problem makes it not worth it though.

The guy and his gf were in a hurry to have sex but needed lubricant. This dumb ass decided that SHAMPOO would be a good idea. He said ir worked for a bit then she had a horrible reaction and had to go to ER.
WOW...
Has anyone used something as a lubricant that did work or even tell us what didn't. Has anyone wanted to suggest something that was really unsafe? less

i havent had problems

Unless saliva counts, I've always used actual lube.
01/26/2013
I've used saliva, I'm interested in coconut oil though!

Remember the old spermicidal lube? I must be allergic to the spermicidal component because using that lube to get butt fucked would make me sick as a dog.
Coconut Oil does sound interesting, though I hope it won't make me or my partner sick.

Coconut oil is actually safe with silicone, but you can't use it with rubber toys or latex condoms.

ETA: About the balancing vaginal Ph because I was curious enough to look it up... the vagina prefers its PH to be acidic and when it becomes basic, it encourages the growth of BV and yeast-infection causing critters. Coconut oil is acidic (5-7) but not as acidic as the vagina (3-4).

I've used conditioner before in the shower. Mostly to keep my clit nice and slick, but sometimes to lube up my fingers or a toy... I've never had a problem with it. And I use canola oil for anal, which has never caused me any problems either...

never used anything but lube or spit

Not so much as a lubricant but my husband (boyfriend at the time, we were young and horny) wanted to lick Ice Magic off my pussy. Needless to say I spend the next hour or so resting a cold can of soft drink against my special place.

No way I'd try something that isn't a lube. Who wants to risk a reaction?
01/29/2013
Nope. I've never used anything other than lube or saliva. Although I do recall overhearing a girl in my senior class in highschool who thought that paint would work. O_o

My god, that is a terrible story. But not surprised to learn it appeared in Cosmo.
