Schools should provide more.
How much sex education is enough for our children in the school setting.

The idea that parents should teach sex in my opinion is just wrong. I love my parents, but they're borderline puritan in their beliefs and downright wrong in a lot of areas about sexuality. I can't imagine how I might have turned out if my sexual education had been solely up to them.

With times changing like they are, we have controversy in what should and shouldn't be taught in school to our children. It is common knowledge that the schools are still pushing for abstinence and that sex should wait till marriage. We know that kids are not waiting, they are experimenting, trying, and doing other things. If schools are unable to teach more then the basics of sex and the human body, and "most" parents are unwilling to engage their child(ren) in more then the basics, are some of the problems kids have with sex and sexuality not a direct reaction of our lack of openness.

I think that the schools and parents should be more open with sex and what it's all about.

When people say it should be left to the parents, girls learn to lay back and think of England and that holding hands will make them pregnant.
Seriously. I still know people who were taught these things.
Schools have a responsibility to make up for what extremely conservative people are not teaching their children, including female pleasure. So many women don't understand how to have good sex.

We definitely need more sex ed, no question.

I actually don't know how my high school sex ed program could've been any better (about sex acts and protection) without being graphic, but I don't remember sexuality (partner preference or sexual activity preference) being addressed at all in the classroom, which is too bad.

Kids can still be taught the morality of sex by the parents. School, however, really needs to step it up and teach the facts, practicals and biology of sex, plus the methods of birth control. These things are not dirty. To me, they're beyond the realm of morality -- they're facts.

my school's sex ed was so abysmal. all they did was show us slides of std infected penises vaginas and anuses and give us mints that had wrappers that said, i kid you not, "sex was mint for marriage". i'm sure there are others with even worse experiences, but that experience left me knowing that there was sooo much lacking

I think they should cover everything in middle/high school really. Ignorance about sex can be dangerous for young people. It's better to inform them.

Kids need to be educated! Start around 5th grade with the "mild" stuff and work up to more info as students get older

Schools should provide more education on sex and sexuality

I'm not sure why a lot of people are introduced to gender, women and sexuality courses in college and not earlier. Many of your opinions and impressions are set way way before then. Sex is more than the basic biology of it, though those facts are severely under-taught as well.
