I've felt guilty about purchases in the past, but not lately. It wasn't that I couldn't afford to spend the money, it's just that I grew up kind of poor and have never completely gotten over it. It shows in every area of my life: I'll drive a car until it falls apart, I'll wear clothes until they have holes in them, I'm very careful about turning off lights and not putting more food on my plate than I'll want to eat (etc).
When I bought my first sex toys, I loved them, but I also had a lot of buyer's remorse. Was this the best use for the money? Shouldn't I have put it into savings instead, or spent it paying down my student loans? And so forth.
But now, I'm pretty cool with it all. We budget carefully and I have my "fun money" to spend however I want. And we've found that, dollar for dollar, very few things in life can give as much pleasure as high-quality sex toys.
