I do not have a TV in my bedroom.
Is there a TV in your bedroom?

I have on in m bedroom and while I'm rarely actually watching it, I find it VERY comoforting from the plain scary silence. I hate when it's too quiet and I can hear the neighbors stupid dogs yap and sqwawk all night long, panther's are common and it's just too creepy. Also it bugs me to hear our dog's toenails clicking while he walks on the hard wood floor and my bigges problem which gave me hell when we had a week with no power after a tornado, my dog grooms and it's like a constant smacking sound at night! I barely slept the week we had no power because of it. I don't know what I'd do without the background noise of the TV.

I do.I fall asleep to it.Actually the only time I get to watch tv is right when I go to bed and usually I will only watch a half hour and then pass out!I like the light and the sound instead of dark and silent!

Some studies have shown that having a television in your bedroom actually can disrupt your sleeping patterns. When the body gets accustomed to using the bed for things other than sleep, that internal memory can actually keep us from getting to sleep. It's amazing how the mind works.
The boyfriend and I just have the single TV in the living room. Nothing in the bedroom but bookshelves (and at the moment) a sex swing stand. No particular reason for the lack of a TV - just seems silly for the bedroom.
So do you keep a TV in your bedroom? Yes or No? And any reason behind it? less

Yep! Can't watch porn in the living room with kids around the house. :0

I absolutely cannot sleep with the television on. Once I had to live with someone for two weeks who almost never had it off at night and I almost didn't get any sleep.

I personally wouldn't fall asleep with the TV on. (It would keep me awake!) However, there is a TV in my bedroom for video games and I also tend to watch my own shows (like House & Mythbusters!) that someone else doesn't really have interest in.

Yes, but we are moving soon and when we move we won't have a tv in our room anymore
12/09/2011
I like having a TV in the bedroom. I find it relaxing to be able to lounge in bed and watch TV.
12/09/2011
I do but we hardly use it
12/09/2011
I can't sleep with the TV on. We only have one TV and it is in the living room.
12/09/2011
I voted no, though I do currently have one in my bedroom/living room. When I had my own place I did not have one in my room, and prefer it that way. My room now is huge and doubles for my living room (allergic to cats so I can't sit on the sofa upstairs without hives). I have my 'living room' space separated from my sleeping space. I've read many studies on the issue as well, and with insomnia it does ring very true for me.

I don't have one,not sure why maybe cause I'm hardly ever home

I'll watch it when I'm having trouble going to bed, or sick. Sometimes I will go to sleep with it on, it helps me sleep on really bad nights.
02/20/2012
I do, yeah. I enjoy it. Can't sleep with it on, though.

I don't have a tv in the bedroom. I like it that way.

No way! I sometimes use my computer in bed, but I'm trying to stop doing that.

HATE the idea of a tv in the bedroom. If my partner wanted to watch tv in bed... no. Just no. The bedroom is for sleep and sex.
02/21/2012
my laptop doubles as one
02/21/2012
I have a studio but I would rather have a bedroom without the stuff in it.

No. I once heard it kills a couple's sex drive. I guess I'm terrified someone will switch on Big Bang Theory during, and we will both lose interest in sex. LOL

We haven't had a tv in our room for the last two years, before that we only had one because it suited us when living in a house share. As much as we'll sometimes miss it we can still watch programmes on our laptops when we really want tv in bed.
