I say bitch a lot, but usually only in a humorous sort of way. I don't call people bitches when I'm actually annoyed/angry with them.
Do you use the word "bitch"?

I use it but only toward like video game characters and phrases like 'son of a bitch!'
03/03/2013
Choosing what to vote was a bitch of a decision.
03/03/2013
I use it all the time. Should probably stop doing it so much.

I'm okay with the word and use it a decent amount.
03/03/2013
I tend to use it as a verb, if someone is complaining too much. "Done bitching yet?" And often use it when talking to inanimate objects, like the hinge on my bathroom door which broke last night: "Oh, you bitch."

It's not my go-to curse, but it's useful enough.

I really don't like hearing it said unless it's like a joke thing. I really hate when men refer to just any woman as "These bitches" like it's just a casual word for ladies. It's one thing if you're really mad at someone and you say it with a friend or something but it's another if you say it as an insult or just referencing someone.

I'll use it very rarely, and I'm overall opposed to its use as a derogative, especially by cis men, because of the misogynist connotations...
However in regards to empowerment, etc., I find the use fine.
And I'm comfortable enough with casual, not mean-spirited, uses of the word.

I don't mind it, I'm comfortable using it, I just don't use it in rp's or fanfictions, but I do call my mother it when she locks me out in the rain.

Like many slur words, there are many reasons why people use it: to subjugate, to empower, to slander, etc. Joreen Freeman is a feminist who, in 1968, reclaimed Bitch (capital B) through publishing The Bitch Manifesto.
So, I am wondering, how do you all use the word bitch? less

In all seriousness, though, I don't have a problem with the word as a term of endearment or a simple statement. I mean, of course, it's also an insult, and one that I use, but I also think that it's possible to be bitchy without it necessarily being a character flaw. Language evolves, and I'm happy to bend it to my will.

curse like a sailor, bitch included

I say things like SOB, but I don't use the word in reference to anyone.

We almost never use the word outside the bedroom. I LOVE being called "bitch" while my wife's dominating me! Especially during pegging. We both like when I call her "bitch" while she's giving me head (as in, "SUCK it, bitch!). For whatever reason, we both find it arousing.
We have a lot of mutual respect and trust, so we both understand that it's just word play and not intended to be insulting.

I am ambivalent to the word, but it gets used by me and around me because I am pretty sure everyone in my house was a sailor in a past life.

I see nothing wrong with saying 'bitch'. I do believe in equality, but feminists are a funny bunch of people who get offended way to easily and for no reason at all. I often find it hard to understand and respect them.

My wife hates when I use that word.

We are using it more and more, but only because we are hanging out at dog shows. However, even in that context I am not at all comfortable with the word and often say "female" about the girl dogs. I was just raised not to employ that word.

Bitch actually doesn't tend to be a massive part of my vocabulary, but I use it whenever it seems like the word to use. I'm not generally shy about cuss words, and I especially love "cunt," I think it's just awesome But yeah, Bitch is a normal word for me.
