I thought I could vote for 2 and voted for the other and my real answer, but I always turn it on before I get in.
Do you turn the water on before or after you get in the shower?

I've always turned the water on while I was standing in the shower (let the faucet warm up, turn the shower head on) but I recently discovered that my boyfriend does the opposite. It never occurred to me that you could do it the other way, but it makes a lot more sense! If you turn the water on before you get in, the water gets warm, the shower itself gets warm, and it doesn't matter if someone left the shower on instead of turning it to the faucet.
What about you? Do you turn the water on then step into the shower or step into the shower then turn the water on? less

Before so I can check the temperature first. Nothing worse than a blast of ice water to the face.
10/17/2012
Definitely before
10/17/2012
I always turn it on before I get in, usually before I get undressed, because that gives it time to warm up.

in my shower, turning the shower on is how you turn the water on, so i get in and turn the shower on.

Before. I hate that sudden burst of cold water.

I always turn it on before, but I know a lot of people who just step into the shower and then turn it on. It just seems like it'd be really uncomfortable before it gets warm...

I actually timed how long it takes to reach the temperature I want. So I turn the hot on, count to 30, then turn the cold to where I know it needs to be and climb in. No waste, no cold water. Happy happy.
12/12/2012
I turn the water on before until it warms up because when I turn the water on it's cold first and I don't want to be in the shower when the water is cold.

CrazyDazy
I crank it, so only the hot water runs, then turn it down once that pipes been flushed. warms up faster.
12/12/2012
Must have warm water.
12/16/2012
water first... omg
05/13/2013
Got to have it on before. I can't stand the cold water.
05/13/2013
I always turn it on before I get in to let it warm up.

You have now met someone else that prefers lukewarm showers & in the Summer, cold! I also do the same as you if there's a tub. If it's just a shower, then I get in, aim it away from me & turn on. I hate wasting water & even turn it off while doing things that don't need the water, like washing my hair. I get in, wet it, then turn off the water & wash it up. I turn on the water when I need to rinse.

My water always takes a bit to warm up...No cold showers for me, thanks!

Always turn the water on before.
05/13/2013
Always before to test the temperature.
05/14/2013
Always before. It takes a while to heat up.
05/14/2013
I adjust the temperature first so I'm not freezing or burning myself and then I get in.
