Creepily Impressive but too Young?

Between the costumes and the dance moves, I couldn't watch it for more than 10 seconds.

It's inappropriate in my eyes, but I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter that I would never allow to do this.

It's only creepy if the people watching take it a perverse place of mind, but I do find it just a little bit inappropriate...the thing is it's no worse than a lot of the group numbers they do on Dance Moms.
Kids are "growing up" all too quickly these days in general, I know if I had said or done half the things I've heard my cousin mention that go on at her school my mother would have, at the very least, grounded me for a month.

I guess considering the sort of things they see in music videos, media in general, and life (willing to bet there's always a few popular girls dancing sort of like that at school dances) it's understandable that they might want to try it themselves though.

You know, I don't think there's any age that's too young for masturbation or sexual thoughts. I don't think kids are "innocent" in that sense. But yeah, these girls don't know what they're doing or the effect they're having...and I would rather my kids know what they want than know that other people want them.

When I was in the 7/8 age range, I used to wear a skimpy little cheerleader outfit and do a similar routine in my backyard with my friends who all wore equally skimpy clothes, coming up with equally booty-shaking routines.

I think that this is appropriate ONLY if the parents actually sat the girls down and discussed this with them in the way that my parents discussed it with me. They explained that while wearing those types of clothes and dancing like that is appropriate for some settings, little boys and big men sometimes get the wrong impression, and they explained it to me in a way that I would understand, that you have to be careful about things like that.

I would let my child do a routine like that as well, but with the understanding that moves like that and clothes like that are not appropriate in any other setting.

As far as some people (pedos) looking at this and getting wrong ideas...I will just say the honest truth. A pedophile is going to be just as turned on by a kid in a parka as they will a kid in these outfits. The sexual attraction doesn't necessarily work the way that you might imagine. Yes, there ARE some who will find that "hot" or something, but I read a comment from someone who actually is attracted to children, and he said that it has nothing to do what they wear, but more the specific qualities that attract men or women to children.

I hope that makes sense.

Either way, I am mesmerized by this. Those girls have cooler moves than I'll ever hope to have! lol

I'm on the fence. When you're a kid, nothing is really sexual, you don't even understand that concept, so you can do somewhat sexual-seeming acts (like certain dance moves) without it being dirty, it's all good fun when you're young. But, to ADULTS, it seems sexual, I wouldn't personally go watch young kids dance like that, it's creepy.

I think the outfits are what struck me as inappropriate the most. Some of the dance moves, yes. But the outfits, with those moves, are way too much.
