I don't have a Mac laptop...but I am envious of those who do.
Which do you use?

Some serious techies say you better have a desktop pc for most of the stuff you do cause they are much better in performance, they also are more reliable, not to mention that a lot of stuff they use just has been around for a much longer time and proven to work perfectly, and the large selections of hardware, and of course the space, when you have one you don't mind adding more parts, you can also build your own which is the very best thing you wanna think of when planning to get a new pc (not to mention that it happens extremely often that they wanna make you buy a piece of trash, which has unreliable amount of memory cards in it for example, like 3 GB of memory instead of 2 or 4, and you can use your excellent knowledge if you have any to know what to put into your new wonderful machine, instead of listening to other smartass weasel fuckheads trying to get your money for shit), you can fan it up wonderfully, pick what plugs you wanna use, IDE, SATA, SATA II, whatever pleases you, can stuff it with a bunch of disk drives, you can make it lit up, fancy, can get any damned cool lookin cases you want, oh my God, do I have to go on?

I prefer my laptops, but I occasionally use my old desktop.

I use PC's and I work off of both on a daily basis. I hope at somepoint this year to add a new desktop and work off of that too. Yes I'm crazy.

It depends on what you plan on using it for, for gaming or if you like multitasking to an extreme point I'd say a desktop would be a better choice.
But as long as you don't plan on playing something like WoW or LoTRO (or similar system abusing games) a laptop is a great choice.

We use laptops, desktops, and tablets. (My hubby's a gamer and computer tech)

Easier to move around with.

Laptop. Definitely laptop. But desktops are good for heavy programs like Photoshop or PC gaming. Which is why having both is best.

I voted both.
I have a MacBook and I use it for watching movies, typing up assignments, and playing around on the internet. But I use my desktop for editing photos and drawings, and organizing the majority of my old files and art. Plus I have to put certain programs I want on my desktop since they are not compatible with my Mac.

Lap top all the way!!!
Easy to close down and take to work, travel with, plug in almost anywhere, read from, watch TV with... I am usually doing about five things at a time on my computer, so if I feel the need to lay back, I can lay down comfortably and still get some work done.
I have thinking of getting a tablet. But I just want that. I don't need it.
Honest. I don't. I just really really really really want one.

Desktop! Somehow I'm still sort of NOT technologically advanced. No laptop or smartphone or tablet, yet...

Laptops can be found fairly cheap on sale and tend to hold their value better than desktops in my opinion. My 2 year, 2 month old laptop still sells on ebay used for what I bought it for new on sale.
Myself I keep a super low power consuming desktop running 24/7 as a server and then use my laptop 95% of the time. less
