I usually buy paperbacks because they're cheaper, but I can appreciate the value of a hardback.
Hardcover or Softcover Books?

Hardcover is more expensive, but more durable, so if it's a book I've read and know I like, I'll buy it in hardcover!

Do you prefer books in hardcover or softcover (aka paperback)? Do you even have a preference?

P.S. I almost made the Freudian slip of writing “hardcore” instead of “hardcover”. less

It really doesn't matter to me. A books a book and I love books!

I don't really have a preference between hardcover & softcover. I'll read either.

EBooks!!! Or soft cover.

Depends on what. I prefer hardback for history, paperback for sci fi/fantasy

Hardcover. The first book that I really loved and got me into reading was a paperback and sits in my shelf utterly destroyed. Naturally I'm a bit more careful now that I'm older, but my books still get beat up a bit...

Lately, I mostly read books in e-book format, but I don't have a preference for hardcover or paperback usually. If a book is really long, a paperback copy is easier to hold. I swap a lot of books via an online book sharing site, and paperbacks are cheaper to mail, too.

It depends...I don't mind paperbacks but I am a teacher and I prefer hardcover books for my classroom b/c they are more durable but cost more so its a toss up

Hardcover, they last a long longer and can take a lot more abuse. That being said, I prefer paperbacks or ebooks for sheer weight, as those two are a lot easier to move with!

I just love books, all kinds.

Hardcover just feels better to me. They feel sturdier and they have more of that book smell.
