I think oral, anal, and vaginal sex are all sex.

Simple question, in a private poll.

It depends on the couple. Oral sex is sex if it is witha woman, cuz there is exchange of bodily fluids. It is not with men however, since they actually can have penetrative sex

i consider oral sex as fore play and i have not had oral with anyone i did not eventually have sex with
07/01/2012
I never even thought about counting just oral. Even though I don't think it changes my #'s
07/01/2012
Oral sex is still sex.
07/03/2012
I may count those I have oral sex with as sexual partners, but I'm still gonna continue to consider myself a virgin until I have vaginal intercourse.
07/03/2012
I don't think I've ever had oral sex with someone and not gone on to have sex with them. But, I've only been in hetero relationships. I have never counted oral sex as sex either. I consider it important, intimate, and something to be taken seriously. But, I think of sex as intercourse. I know this leaves some big questions when it comes to two women being together but those are not questions that I have personally had to answer.

I've only had sex with my husband, but I've ad oral sex with a few other men. I mean, Yes.. I guess it's sex but I don't say I lost my virginity when I first had oral sex...so it's definitely different! Does that make sense?

If the word "sex" is in the description, then it obviously is sex. Fluids are exchanged.

So do you think oral sex is sex? And do you count these partner's that you only had oral sex with? less

Oral sex is sex.

Sex is how you define it. Personally sex to me is an intimate experience. It is based upon the connection I have to the person, not on the exchange or bodily fluids or the act. The intent is very important to me

You should keep track of everyone you have sexual relations with.
But I don't consider oral sex to be sex. Even though you can get STD's from it

If you're doing something with another person's genitals, it's sexual activity an therefore sex. Maybe I'm a bit too rigid but there it is.

I count a partner that I just had oral sex with.I believe that oral sex is sex.

Great question! Really it's the same concept as virginity. It's something humans as a society have defined (hymens usually aren't the first time a woman has sex of course). I mean sex by the dictionary definition is just that, but when someone asks, that's not what they mean usually. It's all a matter of opinion really.

I don't think it's okay to limit the term sex that way. How would lesbians say they're having sex unless they're into strap ons? Pretty homophobic if you ask me...

yes its sex

Oral sex is sex. And I count these partners because it is important too. You can still spread diseases this way so you should count them.

I don't count oral as sex.
08/10/2012
Yes, I think that oral sex is part of a sexual encounter. So it is part of what I would call "having sex".
08/11/2012
Yes oral sex is sex.
08/12/2012
if I counted, I'd feel dirty lol. Or like a book keeper. No, my sex life does not need to be counted, tyvm. And yes, oral does count. Any interaction where you are pleasuring your partner with the goal of an orgasm counts as sex in my opinion.
08/12/2012
oral sex is sex and a fluid exchange. I would totally count women as sexual partner if I had had sex with any yet. but I don't actually count the oral sex I had (before I ever had vaginal sex) when I was a young high schooler
08/13/2012
eh this a confusing question. this is different for so many people depending on their views.

Excluding oral sex from the category of sex is silly. Oral sex is sex. Hey, look at that! It's even part of its commonly used name!
Seriously though, defining "sex" in a way that excludes oral is painfully heteronormative. Furthermore, if you're just relying on some flimsy, made-up distinction between "sex" and "sex acts," you don't have much of a case. I could rant about this all night, but I'll leave it at that.

I think oral sex IS sex other wise why would it be called oral SEX
08/25/2012
I kind of think that it depends on the relationship and what you individually feel is sex. If I'm in a relationship with a woman as a woman and we have any kind of sex, I feel like they are a sexual partner. If I'm with a man sometimes the definition is a little different. But yeah, I think it is still all sex.
