Alright a lot of my information is coming from the Purde OWL site, and I have a couple other links that I got from Selective Sensualist on B8tr Dude's thread about the editing program.
I would like to start by talking about how everyone starts to write their reviews.
This Purdue article on starting the writing process has some great ideas for getting a feel for how you want to start.
Who is the audience for your writing? (guys, gals, couples, etc)
What does your audience already know about this topic? (what information can you add beyond the product page?)
What does your audience need to know about this topic?
What experiences [have you had] that will help your audience?
What do you hope the audience will gain from your text?
less
This is a good way to think about what information you would like to add.
I know reviews have a lot of basic things required like size, shape, material, and care, but we can all go above and beyond that with different uses and experiences.
A good way to do it would be to make a small outline of all the things you want to point out as you go, and then elaborate on each particular thing.
I know quite a few people actually take a few days to write reviews because they proof them over, but more on that later
What works for you guys? I know I think about what I want to say in my review as I use things as well, heh
