I pre-negotiate with my performers to make sure that they get whatever they need to make the scene sexy for them. How do the performers react to the idea of a live audience? Did anyone turn you down because they weren't comfortable?

This makes me think of Justin Bond. I saw a cabaret that he hosted one time and he talked about trans as transformation in the mythical sense. How it's a magical space that bridges worlds.

One of my favourite books is called Trickster Makes this World. It's about trickster myths from different cultures and times and how they all involve that transition from one world to the other and back again. This book then goes on to talk about how in our modern culture, that trickster role is filled by artists who show one side of the world to the other and play with the boundaries between the two.
