Haha, awesome. Then you practically have a bunch of sorbets in a bottle... Just water them down so they freeze...

So, get thinking about what flavors you would enjoy in sorbet---I wound up choosing
1. Rhubarb Sorbet
2. Lemon Ginger Sorbet
3. Iced Tea + Lemonade Sorbet
4. Lavender ... more
Rhubarb or the lavender.

I think I'd like plain old Lemon or Lemonade.

Blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry right off the bat.

Surely all 4 of those! They all sound delicious. I wouldn't be able to choose between them either.

Ya we have plenty of flavors... Melon, raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon and much more. I guess it was one of the perks from working there.

I would try raspberry + coconut, as well as lavender and of course RHUBARB! I will make lemon ginger too, but only for my ginger-fiend family.

Yeah, I really wanted to do strawberry too but they weren't on sale the day I went to the store for this endeavor

The ingredients you need for your sorbet are going to depend on what you want your sorbet to taste like.

At the most basic level, though, you'll need
1. Water
2. Sugar
3. Your flavor
4.---maybe, some lemon juice to give balance

The form your sugar takes is totally up to you and what's in your cabinet. If you have sugar and water, you can make your own simple syrup. If you have corn syrup, you can water it down until you can stir it easily with your finger, and just infuse your flavor in that.

I still need to find my mango/raspberry recipe. I really need to get around to unpacking my cookbooks.

I think I would also try a peach-blackberry or peach-raspberry, if I felt like getting the seeds out of the berries was worth it

Here are the ingredients I collected:

Rhubarb Sorbet
4 cups water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (for flavor---you can use 1 cup of white sugar and a dash of molasses if you prefer)
5 cups coarsely chopped rhubarb
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Lemon Ginger Sorbet
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
about 1" piece of ginger, minced
2 cups lemon juice

Iced Tea + Lemonade Sorbet
3 cups water
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup lemon juice
4-5 tea bags (I used Luzianne)

Lavender Sorbet
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup Monin Lavender Syrup

I actually had bought the bottle of lavender syrup from a coffeeshop because I wanted to experiment with using it in breads. When I realized that sorbet was just watered down simple syrup, I watered down some commercial simple syrup to compare with the stuff I made at home.

Is it possible to use honey instead of corn syrup?

I think I have the same stove as you! Cool!

And I've never seen lavender syrup, it would make for some interesting bread! Were you going to use it for sandwich loaves, or for tea breads or something?

Just boil'em down and use a fine mesh strainer, like I did for my rhubarb

Of course. I didn't actually even use corn syrup in any of these, I just added it to the picture because one of the recipes I was considering used it instead of sugar.

I broke my mesh strainer a few months ago but when I get a new one I'll be back to making berry treats!

Herbes de provence bread... I usually use Grand Marnier along with tarragon and lavender (the herb) and the other herbes de provence herbs. I thought the syrup would be more affordable than Grand Mariner.
