Would you buy toys at a pharmacy?
02/08/2012
I Dont think i could.

I have purchased vibrators from a pharmacy before. Unfortunately the quality was horrible, but it's nice that they sell them nonetheless. EF For me!

Exactly! As I've become older I'm much less embarrassed to make a purchase but I'm also much more discriminating about the quality of the items I buy. The low quality cheap stuff I prefer not to purchase at all.

Just for condoms and lube. Toys I would only get here at EF!

i would just go to a local sex shop rather than a pharmacy...

If they carried quality companies like Tantus and sliquid....I would be all over it!

I noticed our local pharmacy doing the same. It's unlikely I'd make a purchase from them for toys or lube, but it's a nice option for those that need or want to.
It would be even more nice if they carried better varieties of lube. After looking over what they had, even the "conception friendly" lube that's supposed to have nothing in to harm sperm or a fertilized egg contained parabens. Not so great for sensitive people when your only choices are that or glycerin, or both.

It would really depend. If something caught my eye and it was an impulse buy then of course.

Pharmacy is great for condoms and lube, but I like to read reviews before I buy toys.
02/09/2012
Probably not for anything other than condoms or lube. I do love going to sex toy shops though, lots of fun looking at all the toys and getting to see them in person. Then I come back here to order

Before, condoms and lube were all kept in a small, locked case, so you had to ask for them, and the selection was very small. Now there's a big, open shelf and you can just grab what you need and the selection, while still not fantastic, is a lot bigger than it was. Imagine my surprise, though, when on the top shelf they now had a few traditional vibrators and some cock rings!
Now, obviously Eden is where I go for most of my quality supplies, but I'm stoked that if one of my traditional vibes dies on me I can just take a quick walk to get one if I don't want to wait for shipping. Would anyone else go to a pharmacy to get a cheap toy, if one near you sold them? Would you be too embarrassed? Or are you just patient enough to keep buying from here? less

Walmart (at least the ones here) sell cock rings and small vibrators next to the condoms/lube (which is ironically next to the pregnancy test section).
It's not a sizable selection at all, but they still have them. Very strange to me hahah, but convenient. I'd still rather buy from a pharmacy than Walmart.

Hells ya! One of the drug stores I go to started carrying the Trojan toys, but now also Ono, We Vibe, and Lelo. I think it is great, especially since their prices are even competitive. I get that some people would be too embarrassed to get one from such a busy place, but it doesn't bother me.

I've gotten toys at a pharmacy before actually. My first real vibrator my ex and I saw at our local pharmacy and he really wanted to get it to use on me. We also got a few vibrating rings from pharmacys too. Surprisingly, I have bought some rings online that were worse than some of the one we bought there.

No. I doubt they would carry anything I'd be interested in, with my high level of toy-snobbery
02/27/2012
sure i would.

It's not the first place that I would go, but now that we have a pretty good collection, I don't see it happening.

My hometown is extremely conservative when it comes to sex. I think there would be little old ladies falling out in the floor if they happened upon a isle full of vibrators. Here, the condoms are usually shoved up under the pregnancy tests (which you get funny looks for buying if you go to pick one up alone). I don't think I would chose to buy one at a pharmacy because the quality would probably compare to humping a washing machine on the spin cycle.
02/27/2012
idk... id feel kinda creeped out... id need a self check out...
03/06/2012
Eh, I'd probably not bother. I like the crazy huge selection available online, mostly. And being able to shop around easily!

I bought my Wahl at a local Walgreens, though I guess that's technically a 'massager' rather than a sex toy. I did find myself checking the aisles to make sure I didn't run into anyone I know.

Heh, I can remember seeing a Hitachi Magic Wand in a pharmacy once a few years ago. I couldn't stop grinning.

If I ever wanted the midnight collection from Trojan, then probably. They are a lot cheaper at Walgreen. I am rarely interested in the toys they sell at drug stores though.

If I was assured of the quality of the product I'd buy it from my local pharmacy. I'm totally addicted to getting a package in the mail though...
