Even if the toy is safe to wash in the dishwasher, I never use it. I always just wash them with soap and water. Mixing dishes and toys just doesn't seem right :/

Do you wash your sex toys in the dishwasher?

I don't have that many toys to wash. And they don't get crazily dirty to the point where I HAVE to put it in the wash.
Lol I wonder if anyone has put it in the washing machine . Vibrator meets Big Washing Vibrator

I wouldn't either, seem unneeded and more time consuming than hand washing

1. This seems like a wasteful amount of water to me for just one toy (or even for several). And I don't want to wait until I have enough toys needing thorough cleaning to fill up the entire upper rack. I can just boil my toy in a pot with much less water and in a much quicker time span. The water also gets much, much hotter when boiling it, thus more effectively cleaning the toy, IMO.
2. The hot water heater in our apartment does not get our water very hot AT ALL. So, I would just be washing the toy for an extended period of time with warm water (and, again, no soap).
Thus, I wouldn't feel confident that the toy was cleaned effectively enough. Boiling wins hands down on several counts. less

Even though we have enough toys to clean fill up our dishwasher, I can't imagine using them all at once and then just letting them sit there until there were enough dirty. Plus, we use the same one multiple times in a night sometimes, so we just wash it with warm soap and water and air dry it.
I also feel like we'd forget they were in the dishwasher, and then a friend would bring their kid over, or my parents would show up.
At least when we leave them to air dry and forget about them, they're in our bathroom.

Warm soapy water in the sink works fine for me
07/26/2012
No dishwasher here, so nope!
07/26/2012
Not unless you want to turn around and have to buy another one.
07/26/2012
I wouldn't do it if I had a dishwasher.
07/26/2012
nope and probly never will
07/26/2012
We just hand wash or boil.
07/26/2012
no i dont

no i dont
07/27/2012
I haven't, but I would.

I boil mine instead, it uses less water.

Not having a dishwasher makes this one an easy "no" If I did have one though, I'd at least consider it, but I'd need to have a LOT of dirty toys to clean at once, since I wouldn't want to run it either as a near-empty load nor a mixed load of sex toys and dishes together.

It seems awkward to me because that's where food contaminated dishes go, and I'd worry about any cross contamination because it's not exactly a sterile environment.

I like the idea of a hand cleaning

I've never lived on my own, but I probably wouldn't even if I did. I don't want that shit on my dishes.

Maybe if I had a dedicated dishwasher...er, Toy Washer!

Right now I just use a toy cleaner spray. I don't have enough glass yet to justify running the dishwasher to sanitize them. Maybe if I had upward of 10 pieces I'd sanitize them regularly (on top of cleaning them after use) at the same time. I only have three pieces so for now, boiling works to sanitize them.
08/28/2012
I don't, mostly because I don't have a working dishwasher.
08/28/2012
Nope, I wouldn't too wasteful for a few toys.
