Have you ever had to modify a toy that you bought?

I don't think I'd ever try it, I'd be too afraid that I might break it.

I know that every now and then my husband and I buy a toy that doesn't quite work right. We had spending money just to waste it, so we often try to modify the toys to fit us. I bought a jackrabbit with a clitoral attachment that I didn't like, and my hubby was nice enough to buy an attachment cover for it. Other toys we will actually re-design as in breaking off parts that are painful, smoothing seams down, etc.

Replaced the keychain rings on my SportSheets handcuffs to carabiners, not sure if that counts, but the original rings bent with use, so...

I have sanded down a seam on a silicone toy, but that's it. Now I try to avoid buying toys that have very pronounced seams, because I'd rather not do that again!

Yes, we bought a knock off of the We-Vibe (can't recall the name of the knockoff) that had lots of nubs on it. The first time we tried to use it Mrs. Lust basically said get that thing away from me! I later spent about an hour cutting off each of the nubs to smooth it out. The toy never was a winner, but we at least tried to modify it to make it workable.

No, I've never! Thank goodness.

Not yet, but I'm trying to figure out how to unhook some LED lights that are inside the shaft of one of my rabbit vibes. Not sure if I want to risk breaking it though because apart from that it's really good :s

I once cut off the short-ish chain on a pair of nipple clamps to add a much longer one. I felt a bit silly.
09/28/2011
Oh yea.. The best one was when I sharpened the spikes on my Wartenberg Wheel !!

I have a cock ring that has a bullet in it. The bullet is very weak, but I love the texture of the cock ring, so we switched it with another bullet.

No modifications aside from dissecting a jelly toy in order to steal the bullet out of it. Can't seem to get the last of the jelly off of the battery pack, and it's now no longer waterproof with the wire exposed, so I might just toss it.

heres a vid i did on modifying a silicone toy with an obnoxious bump... the fun factory's curve.
10/04/2011
No, I've never tried to do that.
10/04/2011
I think I might get creative
10/04/2011
I don't have one but i would like one...

We put a dildo on a motor once. Also, we bought a spider gag and it hurt the teeth so we padded the ring some.

Yup, I am all about mods, the simpler the better. One of the first things I learned at a sex shop was to wrap batteries in a strip of paper before putting them into a vibrator- way less noisy, and so easy that you can hardly even call it a mod.
My most recent mod was changing the color on an elastomer packing cock that was practically perfect in every way, but way too pink for my tastes. I tried several things before finding out that makeup (who knew?) would do the trick. Since I'll never use the cock for insertion, it works out quite nicely.
The one thing I won't do is try to make a toy into something it's not. To be mod-worthy it has to be 90% there (otherwise I'm not going to invest the effort) and inexpensive enough to still be a good deal even if the mod doesn't work (and to risk ruining through experimentation).

So far, no. They've all worked for me at least mostly! Nothing's been off enough to need modification.
10/25/2011
Now...nobody panic! I sliced off the base on my goodfella because I really wanted to use it during oral and that HUGE base was getting in my way. And I'm really glad I did, even if the end of it looks like I severed it off a human body for my own personal pleasure. Hehehe, I guess there is a sadistic side to me afterall.

I've been wanting to cut off the ridge on the Boy 1 since it hurts so much.

That... Is probably the best thing I have ever heard when it comes to sex toy mods, but how do you clean it?

I need to attach a chain to the D-ring of some wrist cuffs we just bought, my Lord did not like the way it did not have a way to attach one to the other. We are both new to the world of sex toys but I am not new when it comes to modifying things into other things. He probably does not know this but I am looking forward to taking some of the cheaper toys apart later on and seeing how they look and how I can modify them.

I marked yes, but also marked Other. I've never had to mod a toy, but I did have to mod a collar that is solely used for playtime;-) I wrote a review about it and the issue I had with it
11/17/2011
Haven't made any extreme modifications yet, just simple ones like taking off annoying/ugly bows, etc. from some lingerie.
11/17/2011
I have not yet. I might atempt at some point.
11/17/2011
Yeah we have. We have cut nubs off, or hard bumps. Also had to wire a rabbit toy back together in the battery compartment. My toys go through hell!

I posted a review that mentioned this. I bought the Brianna Banks pussy a long time ago and had to stab it with a knife just to get my cock in it. The hole was the diameter of a pensil. I'm not well endowed by any means so if I was having that much trouble, I can only imagine how bad it must have been for regular+ guys.
