I am very open minded, but I would never try that. Just the thought makes me cringe.

i've read accounts of men who've tried sounding and found it completely transcendental.
so.
yeah i'm interested in it. i've never thought about it on myself, and since i currently have a UTI and get them frequently, the thought kinda makes me want to smack someone. but in a meatus? yes, please.

No never ever. I've had a catheter in the hospital, I never want something shoved in there again.

I'm curious about it, but it's not a "seriously considering" curiosity. I more just look at the different sounds and go "nifty!" and don't know much about the practice itself.

I might try it but not without being well prepared.

I don't think I will try it. It seems really painful.

I'm curious about it, but I think it's sexier on men than it is on women. Of course, my boyfriend would never try it! It's pretty extreme, so I would never ask him to.

Sounds painful.....

I've tried it twice, but not too much. Felt really interesting, not like anything I've experienced before, I'd try it again with a better sounding tool! Got nervous about complications especially since I've had urinary tract problems. I think it's hot honestly, I wish my partner was more open to it.

Not anything I would ever be interested in. If my partner was, I would be willing to explore that with them, but I'm glad he's not. We're all set without that.

It's not something I would want to try. I would be too scared of infection. Be careful when trying this.

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS THING TO TRY. Sorry...we are very sexually open, but medically, you can damage WAY too many things fooling around with your urethral openings.

Go to medical school. Get your medical degrees, and THEN...and ONLY then, if you decide this is a good idea, have at it. I suspect you will NOT further act on that idea.

Can't say I think that'd suit my fancy. :/

Oh I cannot possibly imagine doing this. I'm pretty open-minded, but this is just way beyond me.

Never again! Yuck. When I was younger I had a bladder issue and my mom took me to the doctor and they put a tube up my urethra and pumped fluids into it. Made me soo queezy and sick to my stomach. I would never willing do this or get turned on from it. Bleh! Hurts me just thinking about it.

I as a husband and over-sexed I have use urethra sounding rods on myself and have gradually worked up to having my wife insert her small finger in all the way into my penis. I tried causiously to use a sounding rod on my wife and to my surprise the kink of it all really turned her on. We now sound each other during foreplay. Of course the female urethra is not nearly as deep as a man's. But it is a new thing in our sex play-ground.

To be safe always sterilize the rods and use a surgical lube.

Make certain that all rods are sterilized beforehand. Use a surgical lube. After a bit of practice I have been able to work up to 12 mm rods and 9"deep. My wife likes it a lot and have used a 8 mm vibrating rod that is about 3" long on her.

Just do your homework. I've been sounding for a year and have never had a UTI.

Urethral insertion can have more risks than other types of play, but if you do your research, take it slow initially, and make sure you're using all the right stuff you shouldn't have issues! From what I've read it's riskier for females than males due to shorter urethras and typically higher likelihood of UTIs, but can still be done comfortably and safely.
We occasionally do sounding (urethra insertion) on me, haven't done it on my wife yet, but I love the different and unique feeling and pleasure of it! Still don't do it as often as our other forms of play.
Make sure you're using right toys (stainless steel is best), sterilized beforehand and using sterile lube, and definitely go slow at first! For myself, I started with an 8mm diameter stainless steel sounding rod, and laying on your back for a male you can let gravity do the work of slowly bringing the rod down (after initial insertion). Less risk of pushing too hard or fast with this method, and keeping a hand on it to prevent it from dropping too fast.
6-8mm diameter is typically recommended starting diameter for most males (may be slightly smaller for females). The riskiest thing can actually be starting with sounding rods that are too thin - higher risk of puncturing. Best to start with the largest diameter you can comfortably take at the start.
