My partner and I want to try urethra insertion (on both of us) and I was wondering How many of you have or would try it and how it went or what your thought on it are or if you wouldn't try it why?
And if anyone wants to throw in some tips for safety or beginners toys and where to buy them feel free!

I get enough urinary tract infections, and My Man is totally squicked out by sounding. So, it's not for us.
EVERYTHING used for sounding should be completely sterile. Women are more prone to urinary tract infections and ANY urinary irritation should be taken to a doctor for treatment as soon as symptoms occur, as direct contact with the inside of the bladder can cause some serious issues which can lead to kidney involvement. Kidney involvement (and I've had kidney infections in addition to regular bladder infections, they are awful and also very dangerous) can cause kidney damage, and often require strong antibiotics, sometimes even IV antibiotics and a short hospital stay.
I'm not trying to scare you, but there's a reason sounding is usually only done on males, they tend to have stronger bladders, get less infections and there is more urethra to sound before you get to the neck of the bladder, where the trouble can happen.
I've been medically catherized, and honestly, would not choose to have anything placed into my urethra. Too many infections, too much scar tissue. Not for me.
