Borosilicate glass test 02

Contributor: ToyTimeTim ToyTimeTim
Here is part two of my testing of Borosilicate glass sex toys. In this installment I am testing how glass reacts when it goes from boiling water to ice water and the other way around.

Will they break or will they live to please another day? Is the suspense killing you?

Insightful breakdown of Glass dildo:

Are glass wands safe to use down there?
Does it sound like a good idea?

glass vs metal
do you feel glass and metal are similar in hardness

Glass toys or other dildos?
which is better out of the two I have never tries the glass and am wondering about it.

glass or pyrex
What's the difference? Pros and cons?

The video hangs for me at the 2:31 mark, I'll see if I can get it to load past that later on. So far, your experiment met my expectations. Thanks for doing this!

My heart nearly broke when I saw my favorite toy in the boiling water! Glad it pulled through.

I love these two videos. So awesome. I honestly was hoping to see something go boom though. Bit sad about that. Happy that the toys are strong enough to hold up though!

Cooking dildos FOR SCIENCE!!! Very interesting and informative, thanks so much!

Also, I just realized that if you were wearing a straw hat, you'd look a lot like one of my uncles.

I admit that I, too, was hoping for some boomy glass. However it is really neat to see the kinds of things that they can sustain without being destroyed.

Great video, Tim!

It was so intense for me when the Amethyst was being tested! Whoo! I'm glad to know I can freeze and boil it if needed, though.

Thanks for these videos. They're really helpful when I have customers who are clueless.

A couple of suggestions, actually.

1. Put salt in the ice water. Saltwater freezes at a much lower temperature than regular water. The water will get colder with salt in it.
2. It looks like the water wasn't at a full rolling boil, but more at a simmer.

Straw hat? It is a camouflage hat from the local bait shop.

Glad you like it.

How many times do you put salt in the ice to cool down your toys? (Is salt good for the vagina?) I do know about salt, we make ice cream all the time. My intent was not to go to extremes but rather to show what might or might not happen.

At the beginning of the test it was boiling pretty good. Did you notice that the glare from the Lexan shield disappeared, that was due to the wind blowing. Consequently, it also was blowing the flame around under the pan.
The thing is, I have had coffee pots break from doing something similar. That was at a much lower temp.

Heehee, I said if you WERE wearing a straw hat. You quite clearly are using a camouflage hat to hide from anyone directly above you. Helicopters, perhaps? I'M ON TO YOU!

Ah, okay. I thought you were going to extremes to see what it would take. Makes sense that you would only do what a normal person would do. Thanks!

This is really cool. Thanks for doing this video. A lot of people need to see what the extremes are with glass so they can stay safe! I'm just surprised that this one didn't break. I've actually had a toy break going from warm water to a glass of ice. I think it really depends what company you buy from. I read somewhere in an article that not all borosilicate glass toys are slightly different and that's why. But like I've said, it has only happened once thank God. I'm sure glass companies are a lot more careful about the components of their glass these days... especially since they are going inside of us!
