I don't like wood or glass, they are too hard. Plus, anything with latex, I cannot use latex, I am allergic...
Are there ANY toy materials you ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BUY for any reason?

I once reviewed a product made of Sil-A-Gel, and the material BURNED. Never, under any circumstances, would I buy something made of that stuff again! In general though, I also try to keep to the upper side of the material safety scale; I won't buy anything less than a 7.

jelly
ewwww
ewwww

Jelly. I don't have a ton of money to buy comdoms for everytime I want to use a jelly toy so I don't buy them.

Jelly = bad

Since coming here, I will not buy jelly or rubber. Not sure about the UR3 materials though, I might since I don't share toys.

Anything with phthalates, and also wood.

Jelly, because it fucking burns. And I prefer not to buy porous things, for the most part. Considering buying a TPR toy, but that's the lowest I'll go down the safety scale.

Jelly because I had a bad experience with it~

In short...even if there is a toy you think looks AMAZING...with great reviews, will you go.."ON NO...it's made of "X" material" and simply will NOT consider it?
What materials would those be? WHY would you NOT consider it? Perhaps MOST important, if possible, can you site the RESEARCH or SITE that made you worry about that material?
THANK YOU. less

I have a jelly rabbit, but I bought it before I knew better. I would never buy a jelly toy now. (Working toward replacing my old rabbit with something body-safe, don't worry!)

I prefer an 8-10 safety rating material.

wood toys really? I have no desire to see how this is. My mind just gets images of splinters in really bad places!

NO JELLY, First dildo was Jelly, never again.
04/26/2012
I won't use anything with pthalates and I won't use anything porous or that can't be sanitized. In general, I will only use silicone, glass, wood or metal. No jelly, no rubber, no realistic skin type materials. I'll bend the rules and use plastic or tpr/tpe but only for clit/external toys.

I've never been interested in cyberskin. for such a cheap material it requires a lot of upkeep. I don't like realistic toys in the first place either.

Nothing porous for me.
04/27/2012
I won't use jelly. I wouldn't really consider using wood either.
04/27/2012
No jelly for me.

Sil-a-gel. It burns and stings and.. I think I'm allergic, really. I can't get any pleasure from them. Also my clear Sil-a-gel toys turned yellow or orange, and this can't mean no good. I'm also reluctant to buy anything with jelly in it, unless it's phtalate free/toxic chemicals free jelly.

Material doesn't matter THAT much to me, but I do consider it. If I really really like a toy, but it's made from jelly, I'll deal with putting a condom on it. But, I do prefer silicone if it's available.

I've had a couple jelly toys and I like the feel and texture of them but after hearing so many bad things about them I've reconsidered and am now in the process of upgrading my collection.
Now after doing my research on here and other sites, I won't do anything below like a 6 or 7. I MIGHT make an exception if I find a toy I really like, but I would do some really hard thinking first.

anything below an 8 on the safety scale I won't touch. I usually only buy 100% silicone, glass, or plastic (which is usually non-insertables). The only issue with silicone is that it's a lint magnet and has to be wiped off over and over, especially in a house with pet hair. But glass is my love! It's the best!!

Rubber. No thanks.
05/15/2012
Jelly. I refuse to buy it.

I have heard that Jelly is really bad. Not sure why exactly, but the wife won't let us get anything jelly. Sometimes we'll get them because they are the freebies, and she ends up giving those to friends "in need LMAO". But she is pretty persistent.
