Nope, I don't think I could do it, but I don't really care to, anyway.
Are you a vegan?

I'd love to be a vegetarian, it's on my to-do list.
10/28/2012
I'm an omnivore, though when it's possible I try to support more ethical sources of produce and meat.

No. I eat meat, although I really don't care for it. I would like to be vegetarian but I don't really like fruits or vegetables either I hate being a picky eater

I'm pescatarian (vegetarian that eats fish) but I don't eat any sea creatures without fins and scales (no crab, lobster, shrimp, oysters, mussels, clams, sea urchin, crawdads, etc.). I've been pescatarian for about 10 years, and have never (intentionally) eaten non-fins-and-scales seafood in my life. I've also never eaten pork! It wasn't really a big deal to go full pescatarian for me and I've not had any issues with it, and I don't think I'll ever go back!

Wouldn't say I have to have meat with every meal, but I couldn't live without it, especially chicken for my protein.

A big juicy stake for me please!

i was vegetarian for a long time. i was also discriminatory in what animal products i would use- cage free eggs, no leather. but i wasn't vegan.
i believe in being vegetarian for health and ethical reasons. i unfortunately don't live up to my beliefs in that area at this time. i hope to get back to it one day.

Some cheap foods: rice, beans, nuts, couscous, oatmeal, plant milk, gits, polenta, fruits, vegetables, barley, lentils, potatoes, quinoa, flaxseed, nut butters, seaweed, nutritional yeast, oat bran, mushrooms, chickpea, miso, pasta, breads, falafel, tofu, tempeh, seitan, TVP.
Fairly cheap brands: Dr. McDougall's, Health Valley, Fantastic Foods, Gardenburger, Lightlife, Morningstar Farms, Boca, Amy's, Earth Balance, Tofutti, & Tofurky.
And quick healthful meals/dishes can be made with the above foods. With Tofu, tempeh, seitan, TVP, vegetables, and beans you can make vegan chicken, burgers, meatballs, etc. Some good links:

While i am 'technically' 15 pounds overweight, I weigh less, am more active, get sick less, and spend WAY less on grocery's than any of my friends or family members. But if you ask them, it couldn't have anything to do with being a strict vegetarian for 12 years.

veg for many years, but now i love eating a balanced diet that includes meat sparingly. my dinner yesterday was a giant vegan salad with spicy bitter greens, avocado, roasted almonds, dried blueberries, fresh local apples, and a homemade strawberry-and-roasted -shallot vinaigrette. all vegan, all wonderful.

but once every few months, i buy a packet of bacon, and save the grease to cook with for months! just a little bit goes a long way, and i crave it as it gets colder out.

Same, though I try to minimize the amount of meat I eat. I just really enjoy when I do!

I've been vegan for almost 8 years

Nope, I'm an omnivore.

I lasted 5 weeks as a vegan. I'm hoping the next time I try I can do it long enough to reprogram my brain to crave fruits, veggies and grains, and not the other stuff.

Nope, I love bacon, burgers, sushi, bacon...bacon...bacon? Cheese..I love some stuff WAY too much. Giving up meat is hard for me to imagine doing, especially since I love food way too much.
Vegan food can be good but it gets repetitive after a while because there is only so much you can do to mimic meat.
