Without the reviews on EF, I would have a lot of crappy toys that were aesthetically pleasing and useless : ( Thanks EF

It's POWERFUL Um...yeah right!

Thankful for reviews on Eden! I got lucky on my second toy purchase ever, I bought a Wahl and a high quality (for then) Fun Factory vibrator. I read reviews all over the place (probably on Eden for the Wahl, but I didn't realize what a great site it was) but my pet peeve (we're peevish lately, aren't we?) is seeing a 4 or 5 vrooms on a toy with one AAA battery, or a cheapie $10.00 toy, that others have rated a 2 vrooms or something with watch batteries. IMO, 4 vrooms is a strong toy, 5 is reserved for Hitachi and Wahl land.
I know we are all different, and some people haven't had a lot of experience. But, even when I was first starting out with toys, I knew there was a fundamental difference between things like the Hitachi (a 5 Vrooms) and a plastic venus butterfly with watch batteries that cost very little.
I have learned to take the VROOMS from people who I trust and whose body responds like mine does.

The great thing about EF reviews is that you often get a bunch of perspectives. What is powerful for one person may not be for another. With a variety or reviews you get a better picture of what the toy is like, and can make a more informed choice. Plus when you find a reviewer that has similar tastes to your own, it is a great way to find recs for toys.

Even with EF, I still get toys that aren't powerful enough or have the wrong type of vibration. Every one is so different, so I generally look for a vibe with a 4 "vroom" or better, but even then it's hit or miss.

Hasn't happened because I've always relied on reviews before getting something.
06/19/2011
Thank goodness for reviews!!! The reviews are the first thing I look at when thinking about buying something.
06/19/2011
Has happened a few times.

I look for reviews but since I'm on a different continent there are tons of popular products that I can't find reviews for (and vice versa - lots of reviews for a product I would buy if only I could find it here). LoveHoney.co.uk helps but not always.
This year I bid in an auction - a guy was selling 4 Japanese wand-style vibrators. He wrote "powerful" and added that they have 12 functions so I expected something like Mystic Wand (but lower quality). I gave $10 with shipping and was fourth - so that's what we paid. When I got it I loaded it up (4xAA) and nearly vibrated my clit off. There are 12 patterns but there is only one speed. I rarely dare to use it without a washcloth (folded!) or sweatpants and undies to protect my "delicate flower". And I consider FF Delight moderate. You get the picture.

I would be lost without EF. Like you, I relied on advertising, and got ripped constantly! With the reviews here, it's much more reliable and easier to find a toy that I will love and enjoy!

I know I love the power rating too!

Advertising is always misleading.
The reviews here are great.

Yes, I always wonder when I see a product that uses 2 watch batteries rated at 4 vrooms. Ummmm... NO.

Had a sales lady in a sex store say it was "Great for beginners" which meant it was way underpowered.
07/02/2011
Hasn't happened to me, yet. I usually read user reviews before I decide on purchasing.

Oh man, I love the reviews on this site. Thankfully I found one that worked well for me, but I knew it was a bit intense thanks to the good reviews.

I love the reviews, they can be soo helpful

Before EF I used to get my toys from a store, and at the store I could feel the power of a toy before I bought it, so i never really had to worry about it.

I quickly learned that powerful meant...a marketing technique to sell a cheap product that is not really that powerful.
Have you ever had this experience? Did you learn very quickly to rely on reviews or on your won judgement? How has that worked out for you? less

Not just about being powerful, but for the QUIET... Bullshit,
03/15/2012
I've had this happen before! So unfortunate. I live for reviews now. I would be so lost!!
03/15/2012
sometimes i think EF can be misleading because 4 vrooms is such a wide range on this sit and i have some that are perfect and some that are weak but thanks to EF reviews i have discovered that i prefer deep rumbly vibrations and to stay away from buzzy vibrations
03/15/2012
I used to look at advertisment before EF, now I rather take my time and look at the reviews to make sure I choose a product worth my money, time, and energy!
03/15/2012
Even with EF, it's hard to judge one person's strong versus another's very strong.
03/15/2012
This is pretty much bound to happen, IMO--no one wants to market their product as "weak," after all. The reviews on EF are, in my experience, a much better indication of the toy's actual power, since they're written by actual consumers rather than advertisers.
06/26/2012
Why I love to compare to see the differences and the funniest part is I love to compare for myself not for anyone else!!
06/27/2012
Did happen, except it was due to a misfunction from the toy's battery holder, though I don't really understand. Later I was just mistaken as to my tastes, but I think I actually made great choices
06/27/2012
I was very happy to find EF! I don't know where I'd be without all the customer reviews. It is embarrassing for me to go into a sex shop and ask for suggestions. The anonymity online is nice.
06/27/2012
I found EF so quickly, I didn't have too many issues.
06/27/2012
I'm glad for Eden, I always read each review before buying a toy now.
07/01/2012
I need lots and lots of power from my vibes, and only about 3 or 4 have ever met my quota, two of the being a Hitachi and another Hitachi-like wand. My storage containers are full of vibes that I like, but mostly keep around for other people to use because they aren't powerful enough. My best friend says she loves visiting my place because I'm always giving away vibes I bought but didn't like, so she ends up with my rejects, haha.
07/01/2012
I love eden reviews. I always check them before buying anything no matter how big or small of a purchase.
