Everybody has a different personality and nobody is perfect...
Because of that people have the most various opinions about different things, and as we aren't perfect the chance is always there that what one thinks to be a perfectly smartest opinion may not be so smart, and it helps to realize it by getting to know opposite opinions about the same topic...
When I feel that people outvoted me and I look like I am the crazy one I still comment on all of them, always seeking to find truth in them, as much truth as I can understand with my maybe too unopen points of view, and I also try to keep my opinions in the "competition", to keep the dynamics of the conversation up, clash different opinions to generate a very enriching exchange of thoughts, so everybody can see a lot of points of the most opposite kinds, and decide for herself/himself what is most appealing as a conclusion...
Everybody has her/his own path, and what works excellently for one may be devastating for the other, so it is most important to nurture the principles of free will of choice as long as it doesn't harm others, or the person herself/himself... (Though I still find it a very sensitive topic to hurt ourselves, if for example someone should have the right to die at will while others don't want it to happen, if life is really so important to live when one is in such a pain and really no one is there to give a hand, though it is a very philosophical topic going beyond morals and rules of society, bringing the topics of eternal soul and other stuff up... ^^)
When you feel upset about some voting results you can try to keep your opinion running, as long as you keep your style moderated and polite, because nobody wants to feel hurt as well, and honesty is always more important than kindness, better to say kindness is almost as important as honesty...
