Lingerie photos?

Contributor: skeeterlynn skeeterlynn
I know people post photos of them in the reviews to show the fitting and all. My question is do people prefer them? And say it's a see through piece, would I have to cover myself so it's not actually showing? I dono know if I would post them or not yet anyways, I just want to be sure what is and isn't allowed before I would if I would want to. Haha.

Mainly just asking because I'm reviewing the Mesh Asymmetrical Babydoll and deciding if I want to add photos or not.

Pictures are nice but since not everyone is built like my wife there are not required. I just want/need sizing information, especially when it may differ from the size chart, and the reviewers impression on how it felt.

Yes, nipples and vagina's need to be covered. You could wear it over something or use a photo editing software to add a cover of some kind like a star or flower.

Thank you And I don't have a perfect body, but I think not having a perfect one is a good reason to show how it fits since more people have non-perfect than they do perfect.

i feel its ur own choice we are all adults here and is easier tio judge if u dont try and cover up because thats how one would wear it in general and if ur gonna add them to a review mighta s well show unles sit has no relavance to the product like dun show nips if ur reviewing panties ect

Yeah that part's a given. lol. If I'd decide to do photos for it, nipples would be the only thing revealed IF I did decide to have it showing. I may however go with Tim's suggestion of blurring or staring them out. That is if I do decide to add pictures.

There are a few reviewers who will wear a thin tank top beneath the babydoll so that nothing is revealed but the reader still gets an idea of what it looks like when worn... maybe you could give that a try? Good luck!

That might actually make my stomach not look as bad, too. haha. I'm not obese or anything, but I'm not flat either.

pictures in my opinion are prefered and the are the decideing factor in my vote on a review simply because with a review i like to see how it is worn and looks on an actual person and not the model

We prefer pictures, that way we know what we're getting and how it actually looks on someone who isn't an airbrushed model.

I always wear tank tops and boy shorts (volleyball shorts) or pants when I review products. I always have photos and maker sure that what I am wearing is SKIN TIGHT and not altering the fit of the product. unless I am the first reviewer on a product (which I often am) I will not invest in something If I haven't see it not a real person not a model

Like ToyTimeTim, I don't need photos of the reviewer wearing the item, just the measurements of the item, and the measurements of the reviewer. To me, it doesn't help to see someone else wearing lingerie (other than just the model) because it still doesn't tell me how the piece is going to fit ME.

When these questions have been asked before, it really does seem like a split in the community - some people feel they need to see the reviewer wearing the lingerie, and some don't. So my advice is to do what YOU want, and what YOU think will make your review great.

For some reviewers who post photos of themselves wearing the lingerie, I've seen some wear pasties under so their nipples won't show in the picture. Or, as Triple T says, you could put a star (or heart, or leaf, etc.) over them when editing the photo later.

[bold:Nipple and genital exposure is NOT ALLOWED in your pictures. This is in the code of conduct or review FAQ's--not sure which one. JR will remove your pics!!!!!!]

I think pictures are very helpful to determine fit per comparable body type. I know I will not include pictures of any sheer, ill-fitting-indiscreet coverage or semi-see through lingerie. That is my personal preference, though. You can always cover your personal areas with tape, clothing, pasties, etc.

I prefer reviews with photos.

I asked a similar question a little while ago. To be honest, I do prefer lingerie reviews with pictures of the garment on--even if the reviewer doesn't have a body type like mine, it's easier for me to make an educated guess about what it would look like on my own body. If it makes you uncomfortable, though, for whatever reason, it's definitely not necessary--just make sure you include your measurements and any other information about your body type you feel is helpful (e.g. a lot of times, people don't include info about their height, which is really important--measurement s of 36"26"36&quo t; at 5'2" are very different from the same measurements at 5'8", and the garment just won't fit the same).

Personally, I'm trying to compromise by posting pictures for the first few weeks the review is up and then taking them down while I can still "edit" the review (the photos of me wearing the lingerie, that is, not the photos of the lingerie itself--those I leave up). I figure that most people who read the review will read it within those first few weeks, so the pictures will help the majority of readers, but they won't be up forever and ever--which makes me a little uneasy, because I'm worried about my "real life" and "EF" life overlapping.

I write a lot lingerie reviews, and I very rarely include photos. When I do include photos, it's usually of specific details on the item, or of the item simply laying flat on my table. I just don't feel comfortable posting a photo of me wearing it. My lingerie reviews tend to be pretty detailed, and even without photos, they typically receive a EU or Useful rating.

If you do decide to post photos, it's okay to wear something under the lingerie. I'm not sure if it's required, though.

I greatly appreciate them. I tend to buy the L/XL sizes, and I know that they aren't going to fit me the way it does the tiny bouncy models. Having a realistic idea of how it will fit helps GREATLY.

It is completely up to you. Usually I am not wearing stuff in my reviews that shows off to much because my fiance doesn't like it. But it all depends on your personal views. Pictures are helpful though.

I prefer pictures. Seeing nipples and vaginas does not bother me, but I believe it is against the rules. If certain parts are sheer you'll likely have to use tape, pasties or wear skin-toned underwear underneath.

Unless we're the same size, pictures of the reviewer in the lingerie doesn't help because they're not showing how it's going to fit somebody my size. If the pix are pointing out some real notable thing about the lingerie in general though (like a badly sewn seam or an odd feature) then they might be helpful.

My thoughts exactly. Although my wife and I aren't comfortable putting pics of ourselves in reviews so I never fault anyone for not using them. Like Tim said as long as there's detailed info on how it fits or differs from the size chart I'm good.

Thank you everyone I submitted my review to my mentor with a front and back photo. The only thing showing was nipples, and I used paint to put stars over them

Also, for the real life issues states of pictures, I don't have my face itself in either photo. So for future for everyone, it would make it nicer. That way no one can say whether it's you or not.

Then again, anyone who knows me will know it's me due to my tattoo...But that's besides the point. lol.

And me personally, I do like photos if you're NOT stick thin. All these models are small, and well, I am not...Haha. I'm not HUGE, but I got meat on my bones and I am curvy. Which is another reason why I DID decide on photos. It's hard getting lingerie when you don't know it will fit on a non stick figure.

Being a plus sized woman I love when other women are confident enough to share their photos of what it may look like on a bigger lady.
