Free assignments: Do you push the limit?

Contributor: Ms. N Ms. N
As all reviewers here know (I would guess), the pricing guidelines for free assignments are as follows:

Guidelines:
Rank: 0 - 4.4 = toys up to $30.
Rank: 4.5 - 5.4 = toys up to $40.
Rank: 5.5 - 6.4 = toys up to $50.
Rank: 6.5 - 10 = toys up to $75.

My question is...do you always get as close to your allowed dollar amount as possible when requesting free assignments? Or do you pick whatever strikes your fancy from among all items falling under your price limit?

I will choose something that is more than $20 below my limit if I am really interested in the product.

I don't write reviews, so I don't get free assignments.

I start my search using my price limit and go from there. Very few that I have requested were at the mark. A time or two I went over but I sent a message and offered coffee and cookies. Only worked a few times. lol

Mine have been very close to the mark but I haven't requested an EF sponsored one in aaaages.

I don't really care about how much the product is actually worth. If it looks like it would be fun to review or something I would actually use, I'll get it.

I just look for what strikes my fancy. Usually they are close to my price range.

I didn't know how to answer the poll because they're never in a specified price range. It's more along the lines of what I want most and usually that doesn't go over my range.

I usually stay in the $50 range when I request toys, but my most recent monthly was the arousal gel that might be like $25? It just depends on what strikes my fancy.

I always go for the priciest ones because who wouldn't be glad to have such things for free?

This is exactly what I do.

As long as I'm interested in the item, the price doesn't matter, unless I'm over the limit and can't get it.

In my experience, it's hard enough to find an item that hasn't already been reviewed three times or has review requests-I'm not picky about the value!

I have only been offered a few free assignments and turned most of them down. I don't search for free assignments - I'm not writing reviews so I can get to 100 or 200 or whatever. We get toys we're genuinely interested in - and then do the best review we can.

I have not had much luck catching free assignments close to my price range so generally mine are 15 or 20 cheaper but that's ok with me!

I always choose items I am very interested in whatever the cost. I am the one that has to play with, enjoy and then review the item. I do not care about cost as much as broadening my horizons and having fun doing so.

I'm new to the review program and my first assignment is on the way, I picked just based on what was available but I would choose based on what I might find fun not price

I pick things that I really want to try out, regardless of their price (though of course I pick something under my limit).

I just choose things I really want to try, doesn't really matter to me how much under my limit the item is. Whatever gets my interest

It seems like most of the new things or things that are eligible for review are usually like $30 or less anyway. so I've never asked outside of that

I pick whatever is interesting me at the time. If it's over my limit, I'll use the 30% buyout in order to get it. Otherwise, I usually accept whatever the admin sends me.

I start my search within my price range and then just find something that interests me. Most times it's not near the limit.

I choose things I am interested in. I never get up to my price range. If it is something that is more then I will do a buy-out on it.

I pick stuff that interests me. I set the price in the drop down menu's so I don't go over my set price, but I other than that I don't look at the price, just go with what I think would interest me.

I haven't requested a review in ages, but I start from the top and work my way down. There usually aren't many things that I'm interested in trying that don't have less than 3 reviews these days.
