Copy/Pasting Toy/Material information in reviews... is it legit?

I've never copied and pasted anything even if I start sounding like a broken record. I don't think it's right to copy and paste anything. The only part that bothers me is the huge list of ingredients that are hard to spell and also "how to wash your toy/keep it clean" sections. I always write them all over again from scratch no matter what.

If the list of ingredients is huge but it matches the info on the product page it's tempting to want to copy it because it takes a long time to type out. Of course you could just link to it but then people down vote your review because you don't have everything listed in one spot. Bleh. I always type it all out though!

Copy/paste is bad, mmmkay?

I don't write reviews, but I think specifications are specifications, so I'm not that concerned by how the information was come by. It seems silly that someone needs to alter language used by someone else, and that somehow this legitimizes or makes it their own.

What I think is wrong about reviews is the expectation of weights and measures be included, as well as photo's for each and every review. Instead, I would prefer one informational page for the product, which can evolve over time. As many reviewers/contributors who wish, could augment any omitted information, discrepancies, or photo‘s on this informational page. Each contribution to the one single informational page would be dated and signed by the contributor.. The reviews themselves would be only "Experiences", "Commentaries", and Follow-ups". Why rehash specifications. I just happen to feel that people only want to read personal experiences from the reviewers.

If you are giving credit to the original writer then it is not plagiarism.

Some things you really do not need to put in your own words - 80% Cotton/20% Spandex is what it is made of. That is not what I consider intellectual property. If you are describing the feel of the fabric or some other opinion then that is your thoughts and you need to get credit for them.
