Call me crazy (and believe me you won't be the first) but I don't like being given cut flowers. *Gasp* It doesn't matter if it's roses, lilies, carnations, daisies or any other type. I don't like it. I appreciate the romantic intention, but it's just not the gift for me. My thought process usually goes something like this:
1. Oh cool you spent $25+ on something you know will not last.
2. My nose tickles and my eyes itch.
3. So there's going to be dead leaves and petal droppings on my coffee table for several days?
4. I hope the dog won't eat them.
5. Wait, tell me how killing an innocent plant creatively express how much you love me.
6. How long until I can just throw this away?
7. Well I guess I at least have an ugly cheap vase to keep under the sink and collect dust with . . . hooray?
So I was wondering am I the only one out there who feels this way? How do you react to being given cut flowers?

I love it, but I *would* rather have a potted plant or something I can put out in the garden. It can still be pretty and romantic and live.

I like it as a gesture, and I enjoy having them to look at but I feel bad about the money spent/wasted and the fact that they'll die soon.

I like getting potted plants or seeds for a garden, honestly. I agree that it's wasteful to kill flowers to have them be pretty for only a few days. I'll take a potted, healthy cactus over a bouquet any day.

Love/hate relationship with flowers. I think they are incredibly sweet. I absolutely LOVE black roses and my honey loves orange ones. BUT they are more of a rare treat because of the expenses. Sometimes flowers are in order, but other times I'd rather have something... else

I love getting flowers. sometimes I hang them to dry them out then I don't have to worry about them getting all gross.

I got flowers sent to me for the first time this pat Valentines day. I loved getting them.

It's cute and sweet, but I've personally always been on the more cynical end of it. Why not buy something that will last? Or if you want to buy flowers, why not a potted plant or some to plant in the yard or something? Hm.

I love getting flowers. heck sometimes I buy them for myself to set around at home

It's not the sort of thing I would usually approve of. But my dad gets them for my mother, so I've always thought it's sweet.

I like flowers well enough, and I always appreciate ANY gift from a loved one, but if it was up to me, I generally would prefer that money to be spent on something a little more long lasting or more functional. Flowers are great, but they don't do much but look pretty for a few days!

I've never gotten flowers except from family. So I hate it because it hasn't happened for me to judge it

I absolutely love and adore flowers!!! I hate red roses though. So cliche.
But to be presented with them as a present? Not really my cup of tea. I'd honestly prefer a potted plant, or a bag of flower bulbs, or a window box with seeds sort of a do it yourself kind of thing. But, I love wild flowers. You know a bouquet of clovers or dandelions from the side of the road? To me those are just so cute and pretty.
I was once give a bouquet of chocolate chip cookies. That kind of "bouquet" I'd never say no too. LOL!!! He had washed out a bottle of champagne and replaced it with milk- ice bucket too. Now that man was a hoot!!!

I like getting flowers, and think random 'just because I love you' flowers are the best.

Sometimes it can be cheesy (like a dozen roses) but it can be nice. He likes to get me potted plants, which last a long time and are probably more practical. And lately I get him a couple carnations sometimes (which are very cheap, and he knows it so there's no guilt). They last about a week in water and we both get to enjoy them on the windowsill. So I like doing that. Picking out flowers is fun.
