Should carrying condoms be used as evidence of prostitution?
10/09/2012
Yeah, I don't think so. I bought them for my son and he carries them. That doesn't mean he is a prostitute. It means he is responsible and doesn't want to die for a few minutes of pleasure!!
10/10/2012
OMG! So it means that the condom I have in my wallet "just in case" could make me a prostitute? That's hilarious really! That can't be serious!

I definitely think that's a bit ridiculous. Having condoms only proves that you're having safe sex, not that you're getting paid to do it. There's already too many people that probably should be using condoms but aren't, so there's no reason to make them question whether or not they should. I agree with thrill, that making people think twice about having safe sex will only make prostitution more dangerous.

No! Everybody has a right to protect themselves.
10/12/2012
thats yeah not right
10/12/2012
what? that's ignorant, and irresponsible to discourage condoms. there are so many things wrong in the world that stem from people being judgemental about other peoples private lives
10/12/2012
That's silly, anybody should be able to carry condoms without question. Ridiculous. Obviously they need some more work to do or something?!
10/12/2012
this is stupid, I carry condoms and I'm not a prostitute... Catch then again I think it's stupid that prostitution is illegal so that's just me

such prehistoric reasoning for laws. the same flawed logic that goes into "abstinence only" sex education.

I know a lot of people who carry condoms. And they aren't prostitutes. :-/

it's awful

That's just as crappy as the dorm hall rules here. Money, condoms, some drugs can be connected, and there are even more things that can be present on prostitutes but none are solid evidence.

In college, my now hubby always had a back-pack half full of them. Could he have been charged as a "sex worker"...???? (He called it being a " horney college student").

I think it is a person's right to protect themselves for unsafe sex by carrying condoms. Plus using that as evidence you don't know if they are prostituting or just go home to a sex maniac and they don't want to get pregnant, or could just be skanky you don't know. There are so many factors besides getting money for sex that goes into buying condoms that using that as evidence should be frowned upon heavily.

I personally think it's disgusting. Having sex for money should be evidence of prostitution, not condoms. Making people think twice about having safe sex wont stop prostitution, only make it more dangerous.

Hey...it's "nanny state city". If they don't arrest you for the condoms, they just might for having possessions of a large soda pop!

That is absolutely ridiculous. If someone wants to carry around 47 condoms in their purse they have the right to do so. There are many diseases out there that can be prevented.

No, it's horrible to discourage people from using condoms.

The worst part is that this creates an incentive for prostitutes to not carry condoms, which makes the problems inherent to the trade, and the reasons for making it illegal, even more dangerous to public health.

Everyone has the right to safe sex. They should just legalize prostitution in a safe manner.

I AM curious, though--how many condoms does someone have to be carrying before it's considered evidence of prostitution?
12/07/2012
It's humorous, yet upsetting at all the silly and antiquated laws that are still on the books around the country.
12/07/2012
Heck nooo!

no I think it is responsibility
