Would you ever go vegetarian/vegan?

Yep. Contrary to the belief of some, most forms of vegetarianism (Hinduism aside) is a First World Choice. Most of the world eats whatever is available at the moment regardless of where it comes from and most wouldn't turn down anything, as doing so might result in starvation.

I was both vegetarian and vegan. It's great, but really takes some money. If you don't have a decent budget for groceries it can get old very fast.
I was a vegetarian for many years. I'm now am omnivore, but eat no dairy products. Back then getting anything "vegetarian" in most restaurants was basically impossible, aside from a green salad, and yeah, that got old really quickly. I went off the college food plan when I lived in college housing, because there were simply few choices for vegetarians back then. Luckily, things have changed for the better for Veggies since then.
One of my daughters is a vegetarian and has been for many many years, since middle school. Even she admits that it, if done healthfully, is not an inexpensive lifestyle.

I became vegetarian while working for Disney, cause they paid us so little. It's a big change, but can work.

I am, so yes.
09/17/2012
No. I like chicken way too much, and very few vegetables.

I did for 3 weeks go vegan. My health improved drastically. I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to be serious about it. I quit planning and slipped back into old eating habits.
09/17/2012
nope. i hate vegetables and meat is tasty
09/17/2012
I've considered this a lot but it always comes back to no

I used to be a vegetarian. a couple of years later I developed anorexia (I don't believe they were related though) for my recovery I went back to eating meat as well.
If I ever got to a place where I had a healthy relationship with food I would like to go vegetarian (or vegan) again. I just don't know if I will get to a place where it is mentally healthy for me to do it.

I consider becoming vegetarian more seriously the older I get. There are so many health benefits to not eating meat, especially red meat, and on top of that you could feed so many more people by growing crops on a plot of land then by raising cattle on it. Then there's the ethical problem of how the animals are treated, are they killed humanely (is that possible?) or is it wrong to kill any creature with a sense of self-awareness and signs of intelligence (where do we draw the line? A chimp? dog? dolphin?). I hope someday to be vegetarian, I'm just not up to demonstrating the kind of willpower yet.

Nope. But my identical twin tried it for a few years. Humans were designed to eat meat, whether it be fish or animal or fowl. A good steak, grilled grouper filet, or a barbequed chicken has all of the amino acids present, both essential and non-essential. In order to get a complete balance of protein from plant, beans, legumes, etc. you really have to know what you are doing. And even then, I don't think that it's enough just to live off of plants. We are at the top of the food chain baby, eat up!!!!
09/17/2012
Nope that won't be happening anytime soon.
09/17/2012
really depends on the food.
09/17/2012
I do not eat much meat anyways
09/17/2012
Not an option for me. People on my dad's side of the family don't seem to naturally produce cholesterol, and the side effects of too-low cholesterol are worse in my opinion than too-high. I tried giving up meat for Lent once, and my hair started coming out in clumps.
Eat whatever diet makes you feel healthiest.

I tried it for a month and I ended up hungry all the time and over-eating. I tried to compensate for the lost protein with fats and sugars. I gained weight and felt like crap. It can't be done if you already have bad eating habits. Now I eat meat but I've cut down on cholesterol and fat from eggs and dairy. Maybe I'll try again one day.

I don't think I eat any meals which don't involve meat, so I couldn't do it.
09/17/2012
NO way
09/17/2012
No thanks!
09/17/2012
I would eat vege/vegan. But I like meat too much to give up complete.
09/17/2012
No I like my meat.

I'm a firm believer that there is a place in this world for all of God's animals. Right next to the mashed potatoes.
09/17/2012
I could never give up meat.
09/19/2012
I love veggies, but I still love meat
11/17/2012
I could, but I've got my husband to deal with. So, there's no way our house can be without meat for even a day...
