Raised in Atlanta. Don't like boiled peanuts, but have recipes. I like grits, but with syrup; and I would rather have cream of wheat. I like the idea of Krystal's until about half a bite into the first one, and then I remember what a mistake they are. Call me crazy, but I like the microwaveable White Castles, because White Castle isn't in GA. Pork rinds don't bother me, but I don't go out of my way to get them.

From the North and White Castle

Raised in Georgia, enjoy the southern foods. Moved to West coast, and I can testify that there is definitely a unique style of cuisine out here in comparison to the North and the South and the Midwest.

Of all this stuff, I have only tried grits, and that makes me sad. I'm supposed to be a chef.

My boyfriend likes Rocky Mountain Oysters. I told him that I would eat one the day he ate a regular raw oyster.

The only one I do not know about is the Salted Peanuts IN Coca-Cola, but it sounds good.
Do you like Rocky Mountain Oysters? Anyone?

Also, I'm from the north, but my southern grandma introduced me to grits. Man I love me some grits with butter! What about fried grits? Soooo good!

Real grits are awesome when they're hot. I've never had Whitecastle or Krystal's, but I have heard of them... unlike the peanuts in Coca-Cola!

Didn't see the option for sour cream and chives chips in vanilla ice cream? In the south, Krystals are called "gut burners" but I love them! (on occasion)

I'm from the South, can't really think of anything I eat that is unique though...
10/09/2011
I don't like any of those foods.
10/09/2011
All of those make me gag other then grits XD

I was raised in the Southwest so I chose that I'm from the south. I love grits! I am now living in the East, though!
10/11/2011
I haven't tried all of these, but I don't think I'd like any of them.
11/21/2011
I actually haven't tried any of these.

None of the above, but to be fair I haven't tried all of those things either so I might actually like some of them.

From the south and I like pork rinds SOMETIMES and only one or two. I don't care for boiled peanuts and grits aren't something I eat hardly ever, but I don't mind them. We don't have White Castle anywhere near, but I LOVE Krystal. I actually eat Chicken Bites from there almost every night. Lol. When I walk in they know what I want. They always say "Large chicken bite with honey!" Ha Ha. If I ever changed my order I don't know how they'd handle it! Lol.

I'm from the south, huge pickle lover! Never had fried pickles. I've had fried everything else. Lol Fried mushrooms, fried ice cream, fried squash and okra and fried zucchini, but no pickles.

Boiled Peanuts are a southern snack as common as roast peanuts in the north. Grits are a breakfast standard that is outstripping oatmeal in nationwide popularity and Krystal is just a burger chain. Actually TINY burgers, but very high quality beef (ends up more per ounce in price then almost any PREMIUM burger). Anyway, everywhere in the USA has some similar "small burger" be it WHITE CASTLE, or some other chain.

Grits are an extremely picky food to cook. If they are not seasoned right, or cooked just the right amount of time they taste like crap. Very few people or restaurants for that matter have mastered the art of cooking grits. My favorite is cheese grits.

Peanuts in Coke? I've never heard of that...

Born and raised in the South (Virginia's horse country, to be semi-specific), never liked any of these things. Maybe because both of my parents were Yankees, and I never ate them growing up.
For pork rinds, I wish they would leave a bit of skin actually on roasts of pork. My dad brought home a skin-on roast from a specialty butcher once, had me marinate it in olive oil and spices, and slow roast, then broil it, so the skin and fat were buttery-crisp and melting, and the actual roast was fork tender. It remains one of the best meals I've ever had.
