I recently switched to Divacup and I love it. I'll never go back to using tampons or pads unless the flow is just really light or I don't have my divacup on me. I do carry tampons in my purse in case I start without it. I've started using lunapads as well just in case anything gets by the cup. I prefer them to store bought pads because there is no wrinkly plastic and I don't feel like I'm wearing a diaper.
Pads vs. Tampons
01/12/2011
I usually use tampons, but I will wear both a pad and tampon on heavier days. When I was in school and had to sit through long classes (or when I'm at work), I worri(ed) that the tampon would start to leak since I've had that happen before.

I used to use tampons most of the day time but I used pads for night time, when in bed.

I was a late bloomer and when it did end up coming, I just stole some of my stepmoms tampons and never tried pads. Now at this point in the life they seem foreign.
02/08/2011
I use both, depending on the situation.

Tampons. I can't stand pads and they always manage to leak
02/13/2011
I use tampons for the most part. The first day or so, I may need a pad just for security.

My flow thinks it's hilarious to dwindle to nothing just as soon as the tampon's situated.

I prefer pads just b/c i can always feel tampons no matter what the size or how i put them in. i use the always infinity brand. they're AMAZING! they're incredibly comfortable & super absorbent. which is great since i have such a heavy flow.

I've always used pads, but I just got a Lunette Cup to try. I have high hopes for it. I hate the diaper-ish feeling of pads, but I'm terrified of tampons, mainly because of how they're supposed to be painful to remove unless they're fully soaked through. Plus, I need something that I can wear in the pool while babysitting; these kids will not take any excuses from me!

I use tampons mostly. But on rare occasions I wear a pad.
05/17/2011
I've tried tampons a few times when I was younger and always hated how they feel so I only use pads.
05/17/2011
I had to use pads as I got older due to the fact of how my cycle was. Without trying to be gross the flow was way too heavy and would actually push a tampon out. I am so thankful that I had my problem dealt with by removing it by surgery.

I tried tampons but didn't like them so I switched back to pads. Sometimes I use an Instead which is a good product, especially when you want to have sex on your period.

First used pads, eventually tampons, then several years ago switched to a menstrual cup. I prefer the cup.

Same here. I wouldn't sleep in a tampon.

Waiting for the flow to start, I use a pad but after that it's all tampons.

I have an IUD for birth control so my flow is usually super light. I will use a panty liner for the first day and a tampon if Im going out somewhere but Im usually done in a day or two... = )

Menstrual cups are the bomb!

I'm too aware of tampons when they're in - even little O.B. tampons are uncomfortable to walk around with. I think it's the cottony feel. So for daytime use I stick to pads. At night, though, pads just won't cut it (even overnight ones leak when I'm laying down!), so I use a pad/tampon combo for two or three nights, then use tampons for sleeping for the remainder of my period.

I used a pad ONCE and that was when I first started. It felt really icky so I immediatly had my grandma buy me tampons. I haven't gone without them since. If I want to try the whole menstral cup thing but don't have the money to invest in one at the moment.

I use cloth pads. I find them really comfortable.
09/05/2011
Tampons for me. I do want to try that diva cup.

i only use a moon cup! i used to use tampons but the cold wet string after peeing, and the occasional wiping it into my ass (yucko!!) was too much. i was relieved when i found the mooncup.
pads are smelly, and i feel like i'm wearing a diaper. i also hate blood sticking to my pubic hair and pulling. ouch and yuck.
also, pads are pretty unsanitary unless you're changing them every hour during heavier flow times. cold dark places near your vagina equal excellent spot for bacterial growth, which is NOT a good thing!
also, cotton, as i've heard, is the crop with THE HIGHEST use of pesticides and fertilizers. and you're putting it into your most sensitive, absorbent tissues! unless you use organic cotton tampons, you're placing pesticides and fertilizers and all kinds of cancer-loving shit into your sweet flowerpot. no thank you!!

I can also smell liver and kideny failure before they happen (they both smell distinctly different) and other states of physical health. less

Used to use tampons. Recently switched to pads. It's more messy, but feels safer.

I generally only use pads. Tampons just don't really work out for me.
I do try to use them if I'm like going swimming or something, and I need them though.

Pads, usually. I'll wear tampons if I have to (swimming, etc.) but they're uncomfortable to walk around in and hurt when I remove them. The Diva cup sounds interesting, though!

I use both, but I recently found out (or rather, realized) that tampons are bleached. Which isn't good.

I used to use tampons, but now I only use the Lunette cup. I love it!
