If I am buried it needs to be one of those places that puts you in a plain untreated wood box and buries you in the ground, not in a water tight vault that prevents you from returning to the soil.

Though there are so many cool things you can do with cremated, store on the mantel (or under the bed/back of closet) be made into an artificial coral reef, be cast into sculpture (pretty sure this can be combined with the reef), finally get off of this planet, and so on. Plus if your family keeps you they can move you when they relocate.

For me I differ from day to day as to what I would like.

both scare the shit out of because i'm here alive. no, i don't want to be burned. and no, i don't want to be buried. but when the time comes, i'll be dead, so who cares?

i'm voting cremation though because maybe when i die in 50 years the crematoriums will be like those in Brave New World and my body will actually be of use to the environment!

I want to be cremated and dumped into the woods. I want to be with nature, being buried the way you are now, is not being with nature! It is creepy to me. But I want to be donated to science first, but there are somethings left, so they can cremate that.

Cremated with my ashes preferably scattered from a cliff overlooking the ocean. Also, a tad bit of my ashes placed at the same site where my family members are. This is a tradition in my family. We are cremated and then our ashes scattered in our favorite place and a smidge placed at the family grave. Plus, I really hate the thought of being put in the ground. I don't want to somehow end up 'trapped' here.

I would chose cremation, but my family's burial plot has been established since long before I was ever born, or even vaguely foreseen. It means more to my family to have me buried there than it does to me to be cremated (especially since I'll be dead, whatever), so they get their way.

Never thought about it. Assumed buried, till my dad passed away last year. He was cremated and wanted his ashes spread out at sea. Cost my family nearly nothing, and now there is no grave-site to go unvisited and untended (as everyone spreads out to different areas, and after a generation, no one remembers much about the person there anyway). I now thing Cremation is the ONLY way to go. Back to nature sounds WONDERFUL. That is what we have done with all our past beloved pups. However, I am not sure I want to be on a mantle either. Set me free on the ocean.

Good luck with that. All those folks frozen in nitrogen. With overpopulation and financial crush for those alive...the incentive to reanimate you, from the past, without resources or "value" beyond, maybe as a zoo curiosity...would be WHAT???? Just asking?
