Hehehe, all animals have brains. It's the art of reasoning we possess.

I'm undecided. It really depends on how I die. If it is a tragic accident and my body is less intact than its original state, I want to be cremated. If I die of a cancer related illness, I want my body to be donated to science. If I die of old age, I want to be buried in the ground so a future sentient creature may stumble upon my remains and begin piecing together the pictures and history of our era.

I'd rather be cremated.
Just because I'd rather not be buried in a stupid expensive casket.
I'd rather be in a pretty urn.

Pine boxes aren't expensive.

I guess I just can't decide if I think sitting on a mantle is creepy or not. When we cremated my grandfather, my father kept him in the original cardboard box he was placed in afterward. He refused to get an urn, saying it was too good for him. It kind of bugs me to know that and I'd hate to think what my family would do with me.

I don't like the idea of being buried because of the embalming fluids and removal of my organs. I suppose I could plead religious beliefs (I think, not really sure but I've heard the Jewish faith does not allow organs to be removed from the body).

See, I have a strong feeling that cryogenics wouldn't help anyone who has already died, even if we figure it out. Maybe if you're frozen when you're still alive (and thus your body still has the potential to work again). If you're already dead, bringing you back to life would probably just result in you dying again as whatever failed in your body does so a second time.

Other.

I'd like my body to go to science, which means it would most likely be cremated once they're done with it. I'm rather ambivalent about cremation and ground burial though. It's not a big deal to me.

I am happy to be cremated after they take anything useful out of me to help as many people as they can....

I chose cremated but I'd honestly be up for whatever my family is most comfortable with. I'll be dead so chances are I won't care at the time.

My body is being donated to a medical facility in which ever country I am in. If I kick the bucket in China... good on you medical colleges!! You get a laowai to open up!

But only after the parts of me that are somewhat healthy enough to be donated over to someone who needs them.

Figured when I was a student we got to explore biology on a cadaver, it would only be fair if I reciprocated. But only if the students give me the nick name "Ms Funny Pants" and none of those boring names that students give the db

I'm a little scared of being cremated, but I don't want to take up any space by being buried.

I would prefer to be thrown in the woods & eaten by animals, but that's not legal.

My mom decided to donate her body to science. We used Medcure (???) Because I was having issues with her illness, I procrastinated in getting the work done until about 2 weeks before she passed. It could be because she was in hospice, but all they needed to be sure of is that she hadn't been irradiated recently; which she hadn't. I don't know what the process is for those who are planning well in advance. I honestly can't imagine a time where cadavers aren't necessary in research.

A little note about the service we used for my mom, they returned her ashes to us within several weeks. This made it possible to have a memorial service if we wanted to. My sister and I just held onto her until a year after her death, when we scattered her ashes into a river.

I really don't know yet. I used to think I wanted to be buried and put in a mausoleum, but my husband wants to be cremated. I want our bodies to be together when we die and if he wants to be cremated the only way I can think we can do that is to both be cremated. So I really don't know yet...

A few years ago, I would have stubbornly demanded a burial. After my grandparents' death, and finding out the huge price gap between burial and cremation, I quickly converted. I'd rather be cremated than put any additional financial stress on my loved ones.

While being slightly phobic of being burned (dead or alive), I also think being kept in a jar on a mantle is a bit creepy. We've had my grandparents for a while, and it just seems selfish to keep them in there. Grandma was claustrophobic, after all.

I do like the idea of being donated to science, though. It's like a final act of kindness, through teaching others.

Cremated, because it would be easier on the family.

I totally agree. I wish I could be thrown out into the woods. Not to be crass, just because it makes sense. Circle of life ya know?
Next up would be donating my body to science, which I will most likely do. At least then my lifeless body will go towards something important. Unlike rotting in the ground (no thanks) or being cremated (good choice, but seems like a waste).

I voted Other, Since, I don't really care, and would just want my family to get the cheapest thing for me, I'd rather them have more money then me be buried.

I'm uncertain. My beliefs don't require my body to be preserved for any reason, and cremation is more affordable. If I get a really awesome urn maybe. I don't think about death often...
