Are the user uploaded photos on products getting out of hand?

I've seen several where they are even product related. I ish there was a way to flag such images

Multiple accounts for the same person is a breach of TOS.

It's kind of irritating. It's not cool to steal pics like that.

I'm new, and I was overwhelmed by the amount of photos. Simply for me it's like, "Okay, it's the same toy"...over and over and over again. I'm sure that as I'm trying to move up the scale I'll take advantage of the points, but I think two pics is enough. Why take 8 of the same toy?

I think you should only post your own photos. If it is on google the person can google it. Should be your own. Otherwise you dont actually know what the toy looks like

Yeah, maybe they should get a report function.

I haven't noticed that yet, but that would bother me. People should take their own pics of the product and then upload them and not have multiple accounts just putting on the googled images.

I just found out tonight that 2 members have blatantly stole my photos of one of my group photos of glass dildos and uploaded to all the product pages. It's really getting out of hand.

I actually reported a page that had random, totally unrelated photos added to it by a couple of users slash point farmers. It was quite ridiculous. Other pages seem to have way too many photos and duplicates, of every angle imaginable which is a bit excessive.

I think only self-shot photos should be allowed. Possibly photos from the manufacturer's website if they are exceptional (size, quality, unique).

I am not sure that I would notice enough to flag, but duplicates and misattributed photos do sound annoying.

Just a reminder - If you see suspicious image uploads, make sure you contact Stormy or me about them. Links are great, but be specific. Giving the screen names help too.

I had no idea you could get points for uploading images. I usually include them in my reviews as I find them helpful when I am looking to buy a product. Original pictures that will help the consumer decide on a product will always be welcomed by me.

I agree with Indiglo and StayatHomeAsh. Even if they are posted from google they're still helpful if there aren't any pics uploaded yet. I don't like to see pics of incorrect products posted, though. I think the best solution is for the community members to notify EF staff if we see anything questionable posted. The staff is busy so I think if there is anything we can do to help them out, we should do!

I do my own photos when I am writing a review and if I can take the time to do it then others should not be able to use my work and/or download an image from somewhere else...

I just want to point out that a lot of those close up copies are not by the owner of the original photo! While I agree that seeing the same picture posted by multiple user names looks like they must all be the same person, many are just copies another user made of the original, maybe changed a bit, such as zooming in, or cropping it & then re-uploaded.

If you see this, please report it to JR or Stormy. They'll want to know the screen name, the page & which exact pictures you're talking about.

I agree that all uploaded photos should be by the actual photographer! Using commercial & other copyrighted photos is against the law unless you received permission!

Yes, it's definitely getting out of hand. The other day I saw a random stock photo of a dog uploaded on a toy's page. Wtf?

Same here. I think photos are not taken by the contributor (plagiarized from others) should be flagged.
