The revised E of C good. I am all for everything that makes EF a more pleasant site to hang out! Thank you EF for being responsive and proactive.

I have a question about 'links to competitors'. What about when someone says in a review that a product is available cheaper at Amazon or Walmart or some other location, but doesn't link to it? Is that against the rules?
And should stuff that is happening in places on Eden other than the forums be reported to the 'Forum Moderator'?

opps that should read "The revised E of C looks good." Sorry, I should have caught that faster!

If something I review is from another site, I will mention it (for example my Liberator Heart Wedge was purchased elsewhere in a color not currently available on EF) but I don't mention the merchant by name, and I would never state in the review that it cost less.

Oh I like this a lot! I love that Eden is looking out for everyone! I know there are more changes to come, but this is a really awesome start.

not to sound like I'm obsessed with EF, but that sounds sooo disloyal to say something is less expensive elsewhere. i would not want to see that anywhere on EF, reviews, forums, etc.

that is something more appropriate for personal, not public communication. I am affiliated with other toy companies as well as EF, and I don't even mention price comparisons on my website.
the closest thing to that that i would see as acceptable is an "at home" tip. for example a mention of creative ways to use non-sex toy objects such as snake bite kits

You guys are awesome, thanks for putting this crystal clear post together. The only thing that I have really even come across on the list is blatent and obvious point farming and I know that it sounds funny but if we suspect that is happening, do we report it? When I see people who appear to be farming for points it frustrates me because sometimes I will spend a few hours on EF and of course earn points for my activities but that's not why I do what I do. I thoroughly enjoy being a member of such a great community and I love to give back to it so when I see point farming and someone contributing nothing valuable to the site, it kinda bums me out. Luckily I don't come across it that often but I know that people do it and since EF gives so much to us, I just don't think it's fair to see a farming account contribute nothing to the site if that makes any sense. Keep up the great work guys! I appreciate y'all and everything you do

I was thinking we could use a few more options for the flag button. Maybe a "this thread is a dupe of a recent thread" option with a field to add URL or maybe even one for this 24-hour rule? The having to email someone is kind of counter productive..

When you sort the forum by "time started," you can easily see the contributors who create 5 new threads sequentially. Not coincidentally, they are almost always 3 discussions, 1 poll, and 1 comparative, the daily limits for receiving points. Do you want us to report these every day? I just sorted and it's pretty obvious that this behavior is still continuing despite the new EOC.

I am noticing this too. I just noticed that three out of the 5 are about the same subject. Maybe, we should link on those threads to the new EOC and say you might want to read this?

You do not need to report those, we see them too.
And...the EOC is up for the entire weekend so people can see it and get used to it; the new guidelines will be enforced starting Monday.

Point Farming:
Activities just to earn EdenPoints, that have no value to the community, are considered “Point Farming”. The following examples of point farming are not exclusive; the Forum Moderator can determine when other activities could be considered point farming. Some examples of point farming are:
- 01: Repeated following and un-following of manufacturers and contributors.
- 02: Posting emoticons as comments or forum posts.
- 03: Numerous threads and posts being created that offer nothing of value to the forums. While we do encourage questions about products being asked on the forums, we ask that the questions first be researched on the website for an answer and then asked via the forums if a satisfactory answer was not found.
- 04: Uploading several videos to EdenTube that are irrelevant to EdenFantasys.
- 05: Posting multiple forum threads sequentially. It’s one thing to have a question; it’s another to post the same question five different ways on different threads.
When investigating EdenPoint abuse, we consider all activity, not just occasional out of place actions. If you are doing nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have any questions, you can always contact us. less

The second part says that emoticons are considered point farming when it is a comment. What about the "ty" comments? Sometimes it takes more to type the emoticon then TY.

Bottom line: how much shit am I going to get in if I start messaging these people and telling them they're being obnoxious?

Personally, I think it really harms a community when members act as unofficial moderators. It is much more professional for the moderating team to handle contacting members and asking them to change their behaviour than it is for members to start scolding one another, either privately or publicly. That would do more damage to the community than any number of spam threads.

I think the most that an experienced member should do is contact a new one with a friendly welcome message and a link to the EOC. Anything more than that will just make the atmosphere ugly and unpleasant.

Yes you should report things on product pages and elsewhere on the site that seem off. But, please do try to establish that there is an actual pattern of history for this person before you contact an administrator.

When it comes to the "Eden should carry" posts, links to other sites aren't good. BUT if you add an image of the product and tell us what the product is and who makes it, that's fine.

What about links to manufacturer web sites? I don't think I've done it before but clarification would be helpful. Also, maybe EF should start the thread each month stating that links to other web sites is not acceptable and images are preferred?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. But is posting a link to a company's website in a review included in this? I once linked to the company's page in a review because there wasn't any info here yet on that particular company. I have also linked to a company's page for a video that I thought would be helpful to direct people to that were interested in how a toy works and I am unable to make video reviews. I just want to know for sure if that is allowed before I do it again in the future.

I think some people do this innocently when writing reviews. Generally we edit the link and send a nice message, asking you not to do this, whenever it happens.

I usually do use pics from other sites for the "Eden should carry" threads; BUT many other sites (where else do you get the pictures of new toys? New toys are not all over where you can find pics, unless you go to an other site) have water marks on them, so it will say where the pic of the toy was taken from.

I also noticed that recently I tried to use an image (of a book that isn't even related to Eden, it was a book by Kinsey) from that river named website, and the link refused to work. It wasn't a product Eden carries or will ever carry (unless Eden is going to carry the $450.00 hardback of Human Sexuality and the Human Female) yet the link wouldn't work.
Has something been used to prevent pics from other sites being transferred? Otherwise, how could we show what we would like Eden to carry when it comes to sex toys etc.

This is the grey zone that causes me the most angst. There are so many instances of posts on the forums that I question yet am unsure if they are examples of point farming or simply new contributors or unfamiliar with the EOC. Perhaps the Forum Moderator could make a concerted effort to point out instances that EF considers to be in violation? It might be helpful to create a generic message with a link to the EOC to educate that person. That way not only does the contributor get educated, but the rest of the community as well in terms of what is considered acceptable versus not acceptable. I just find there's a lot of room for interpretation here and some guidance would be appreciated.

I feel that this is clear enough for most people to understand. If someone is only creating threads to max out their point, I am sure that they are aware of what they are doing. And of course as a safety measure, the first thing that is going to happen in an instance of point farming is, you receive an email asking you to stop point farming.
