How much is too much for a toy?

Contributor: Cat E. Cat E.
I wouldn't go over $75 but really, I wouldn't want to pay $75.

anything over $250 is too much for me. Id rather have one good luxury toy than a bunch of cheap shits that dont even work. but hey, to each its own.

I'm not willing to spend more than $50-75 or so, mostly because I can't afford anything more expensive and I think there a lot of decent toys out there for a better prices.

I would spend more for something durable and unique, especially a custom piece. Just ordering retail, I try to stay in the under $100 category except for the the new "pretty" toys or exquisit glass pieces. There are so many toys on the market, if one company is overcharging, I can always find something similar somewhere else for less or improvise. It really has to be something exceptional for me to splurge.

I really don't have a limit. If I can afford it, and it has great reviews. I'll buy it. I have long bouts of being single, and no one will love me like I can love myself with some of my toys.

"Too much" = whatever I can't afford at the time. I've been meaning to replace a cheaper toy I have but I'm low on pocket change, so even the cheapie becomes too much, haha.

I own an Eleven, and would buy another if something ever happened to it.

Same here - we have the Eleven, but there aren't too many toys over $200 that we want.

On my own with real money and not Eden Points, I'd never pay more than $20-25. But with points, probably not much more than $120 or so.

I t really does depend on the toy. I have several over $200 and they do not disappoint me.

I'm a cheapass and I try to get the best quality for the lowest price. I can't see myself spending over $100 until I'm out of college at least

There is never too much to pay for a toy that will do what it claims. For me the Eroscillator qualifies as such. So much so that I'm willing to pay for the Eroscillator Gold for the whole works, G spot stimulation included. My pleasure and that of my partners' is paramount to any cost as long as it works for us.

It depends on the toy. I like quality, unique toys.

$300+ is something I would spend on only if there is nothing like it at all in its category, and something I badly want of course... ^^
Agreed. With points who knows, probably not more than $300 though. I used to think I wouldn't spend more that $50 then I got the o2 Revolution and Pure Plug Medium.

Most of my toys are under $60, but with a sale and points a few months ago I was able to get a pricey toy for a good price. If I didn't have points or discounts I don't think I'd spend over $70.

Oh geeze it all depends on what kind of mood I'm in. After experimenting with cheaper toys finding out what I like, what I don't like. It's easier to justify to myself to by one nice toy that may have a higher price tag, then to buy some that last for a while and then are killed by abuse (I'm pretty sure my vagina kills vibrators).

Tho I guess my hesitations on buying something really spikes around like the $50 mark

For a vibrating toy, more than 120, I start to get grumbly and I don't think I'd ever buy a 200+ toy. For a toy that doesn't even vibrate, more than 90 seems like a joke. Unless it's made out of gold? but that's still silly.

Honestly it would really depend on the toy/company to say if i would or would not pay more than $50 for a product - but the point system really helps when it comes to being able to afford more luxury brand toys. Still, i'm not sure, even with the extra points, if i could bring myself to pay more than 150-200 for a toy.

anything over 100. Even 50+ is a little too much.

The most expensive toy I own is my Ina 2, which was around $140, I can't see myself spending much more than that on toys.

I think we are all searching for the Holy Grail of toys. For many it is an expensive search. That is why I choose to participate with these postings and reviews. I feel it is helpful to some who are searching for what will work for them. For some, these postings may bring new ideas while possibly minimizing expensive mistakes.

My experience so far is as follows. My wife found years ago what she covets as her favorite toy was the Eroscillator 2 deluxe. I'm specific about the model because they have three models, as I know. So, I cannot comment regarding the specifics of the other models. The one she has came with five attachments. The attachment she uses I believe is called grapes. It is used on her clit and is what allowed her to squirt for her first time. It is the one toy which consistently causes her to orgasm. She had prior been using the Hitachi, but it was hit and miss for her. More often than not the Hitachi just numbed her at the wrong time. What she experienced from the Eroscillator was so different. It was the oscillations which worked for her. No numbing, just a consistent build-up of emotions or feelings which crescendo into a wave of ecstasy. Please note that this is my own observation and words, not hers. From a woman's perspective I may have it all wrong.

Myself, I am still searching for the Holy Grail, so I am still buying toys. The result is that I have an armoire full of what my wife considers mistakes, failures, or no way is she going to try that. But, I continue on my trek.
