Truly. There are so many toys I don't use that could be sent in. I just have to gather them all up and get on it. The order discount is pretty sweet, too.

So, as far as the assignments go..... I have submitted a request for a couple of items. Someone approves them once a week? I am hoping that I can get one of those available. I can't wait to write a new review. My artistic juices are flowing!

Correct. They are still on a first come, first serve basis. If there is something specific that you want and you think it might be up for a DR, just send me a little note and I'll see if I can get it for you.

Question about mentor program. Is there only a certain window where people can enroll? I ask because I have to fill out the form and I am too overwhelmed with stuff right now to do it. I wondered if I could submit it later (when I know I can devote time to the job).
yes, I got the email, thanks!

There's no window, I apologize if that was the impression given, but I believe the application says "return at your convenience". I'll double-check and clear up the wording if need be.

It did indeed say at my convenience. I have not been around much and thought perhaps I missed some info posts about it. I didn't know if it would be rude to wait and do it later, that's all. I thought I might lose my chance.

What changes have been made to the mentor program and what's the deal with how short or long reviews are supposed to be? I know you had mentioned a while back that there were going to be options, did anything ever come of that?

Not at all. I'd just start sending you little reminders to see if you were still interested.

Fantastic question, and hello. The issue has never really particularly been about the length itself or how many characters/words are in the review. It's always been about the use of those words.

For instance, a lot of the extended template reviews had repetitive information scattered throughout several parts of the review. What we're trying to acheive with the relaunch of the mentor program is a uniform and streamlined review from every reviewer without dampening their personal style.
In the past, reviews focused on minute details that really wouldn't make or break someone's decision on it. The questions that should be answered in a review are:
- What was your first impression?
- Did it perform as promoted?
- Pros/Cons
- Would you recommend it to a friend?
The pro/con section would be where you would say the toy was a pain to clean, to store, to charge -- or that it was too short, too long, didn't vibrate strongly enough, etc.

I guess I don't really understand who decides what would or wouldn't influence someone's decision to purchase a particular product. There are a lot of (seemingly) small details that really might make a big difference to someone.

On my to do list, is to reword the prompts on the templates themselves. I think this will help steer the reviewer in a better direction. If you all would like, we can open a dialogue about how to rephrase those questions so they are more leading.
Ultimately, we are aiming for easy to read, streamlined reviews that are unbiased yet truthful about the quality and performance of the toy based on your experience with the toy.

Definitely. We just have to remember that the average person reading a review doesn't necessarily have the time to read through an 8,000 word review on a toy that isn't overly complicated with a bunch of settings. Pictures should be clear, well lit and minimal. If you feel that you need six or more pictures to accurately show the differences in the toy, it would be wonderful to go to the next step and shoot a short video of it instead.

As for Lingerie, I would love to see if it runs true to size. If it's comfortable to wear.

All of that can be covered in the performance/use sections. Perhaps I'm not saying this the way it sounds in my head, but we're not looking to exclude information that is relevant -- we're looking to streamline the information so that it's clear and easy to find in the review and not buried in a mound of text about how much someone hated the other toys from this company but is super-impressed with this particular toy and though you think they're trying to kill you because they still produce jelly toys...so forth and so on.

While entertaining, it's personal opinion and completely off topic.

Shooting a video isn't always possible for someone. And I think a good amount of photos can really enhance a review.
