There is a locally owned shop down the hill from my house, and around the corner is Caribou Coffee, which is a chain, but I'm not sure how far they reach out. Both are great options and before I come to a Starbucks! That is one of the reasons I love living in a big city.

For me, it would have to be either Tim Hortons from Canada, because it's good and cheap and a cultural staple, or in my current city any of about 30 different independent coffee shops. I'm spoiled here.

I love local independent coffee shops for their quality way over any corporate brand, but if I'm pressed for cash or time I'd choose Dunkin Donuts.

We have a local coffee shack that does great beverages. They also give biscuits out to any dogs.

Of the ones listed, I think Dunkins is my most common choice, but I like to try new flavors, non-mass market coffees as much as possible.

locally...water street, ethiopian.
we have several small coffee shops in our town that roast there own beans. water street is by far the best.
