Thanks, Redbox. I also think limiting how many votes one can give to upgrade people to Advanced Reviewer should not only NOT be rewarded with points, but should be limited to no more than 2 or 3 a month.

I see the same 4 or 5 people voting on EVERY single person who asks for upgrades. Why is this allowed to happen? A few of these reviewers do good work, but the vast majority of them need a lot of work on their reviews and most likely have done only the absolute minimum work to write a review, yet are voted into the Advanced Reviewer program by people, who from the look of it, have NOT read their reviews. I can count on ONE hand the number of people I have voted in who have only 2 or three reviews and are asking for an upgrade. Some people vote that many people in a WEEK! Why is this still being allowed to happen? Are these people voting in alter egos? What would be the impetus to vote for every single person who asks for an upgrade, without even reading their reviews? This is part of the problem.

In the last few weeks I have seen several fairly awful reviews with the comment "GREAT REVIEW!" and an high vote all from the same persons. It only leads me to think a few people are voting on reviews they do not read, people are voting others into the Advanced Reviewer Program without reading those peoples' reviews and that things need to be tightened up to prevent this from continuing to happen.

Also, when a community member reports that they have seen something less than kosher going on, an IP search of the person being reported should be undertaken immediately. The members of the site see A LOT! less

And it cannot be reiterated enough: this is a temporary fix. I saw some posts from last night that seem to suggest this word was painfully glossed over and caused the poster(s) major headache as a result. We don't want you to have headaches, so again, the implementation is temporary, you can stop chewing your Excedrin tablets now!

Any gift cards that are outside of the EdenPoints gift cards will be unlimited.

Users can apply unlimited EdenPoints gift cards, so long as they do so from their account. They will not be able to integrate any points or gift cards from other accounts. The user will be required to be logged into the appropriate account to apply their EdenPoints gift cards.

This ensures there is no cross-account activity, and it also ensures that those of you who do receive multiple gift cards for your awesome kick-assery will not be punished.

The estimate for this change is going to run about 3 days. Updates will be posted as they come!

I feel very badly that Eden was taken by the fact that they were just trying to be generous to those who care.

My guess is those huge purchases are stocking someone's sex toy shop in an other country. Either that, or someone should keep an eye on sex toys for sale on Ebay and Craig's list. The company I rent and buy my breastfeeding supplies from had some clients of their LC's stealing pumps and nearly all of them turned up on Ebay. For well under the wholesale price of the products.

So, Jaimes and I and a few others have taken the "gifting" of points into consideration. That is something we will work on as part of a long-term solution, too.

The only time the account comes into question with the gift cards is if it's a point-generated gift card. All other gift cards will not depend on whether or not you are signed in. less

yay! I am glad you have figured out a fix for the gift cards we work hard to earn in other ways.

I agree with P'Gell that something needs to be done with the voting in advance reviewers. I never get a chance to vote for someone when I see a nomination, by the time I go to read the reviews they have done people have voted them in and more often than not the reviews are not good. I worked hard with my mentor to get my reviews up to scratch and it sucks that abusers are just voting in anyone without ever looking at the reviews. less

I think so as well. I have seen some people called "advanced" reviewers, yet when I look at their reviews there are typos everywhere. Things that don't make sense, such as battery information, storage information, etc. Almost like they never even used the product and are just faking reviews to get points.

I think EF could take away points for things like:

- Answering polls (it's one point, who cares)

- Making a search (still only one point)

- Voting on reviews

Even though the points from voting on a review would be taken away, there could still be points for actually taking the time to write a good comment on someone's review. That is actually work. Taking the time to write something useful. less

Searches are 5 points, but it still doesn't matter.

I wish they would take points away for commenting on products; that is where I find all the stupid smileys. And I hate commenting on stuff because I feel like it looks like I am trying to get points when I really want to comment on something.

Plus I'm sick of seeing people going through and rating and commenting 10 things a day. It's obvious what they are doing.
