I see the same 4-5 people doing to same thing and it drives me to drink. It is why i refuse to vote now.

Morning, guys!

So, first a recap, and then a update.

Here's the re-cap part: Gift cards have been limited to one gift card per order to cut down on point farming... I think the appropriate word here is "jerks"? Yes, ... more
Awesome. Now, it was mentioned before.. Can the farmers not just buy a bunch of physical GC's with their points and still sort of do the same thing? (Mind you, that would be a lot of time and effort just to get free stuff)

Thank you guys so much for your hard (and quick) work on this. Thank you for keeping us updated on what you are doing. I've been a member of other sites that make HUGE overhauls to the entire site without telling any of the members - so you guys are going above and beyond on that. You don't have to tell the members any of this stuff, but you're keeping us updated with every little step along the way.

And thank you so much for taking into account that some of us really do enjoy gifting our points to friends/family/etc (and we do it fairly). If we can continue to do that, it will be wonderful, but if not, thanks for the opportunity to do so up to this point. You are all amazing, seriously! I am really looking forward to seeing the improvements you make.

Kindred brought this up on page 2, and it was answered by Rachel K on page 3:

"That's an excellent point, but EdenPoints can't be used to purchase GCs. Should be covered (phew!)"

So, no worries!

Wow! This is wild! But frankly, Edenfantasys is a business first and in the words of (I want to say Carrie Ann? Maybe someone else?) it's not a "soup kitchen". Edenfantasys is VERY generous to its contributors, but if they are getting exploited this badly then we should be happy to wait it out while they come up with a workable solution. EF isn't going to leave its video reviewers and the like stranded for long, but in the interim they need to stop insane multi-thousand international purchases (what the heck?)

Ah, okay, I didn't see the update from the admins about the solution being used for the time being as of this morning. Looking forward to seeing what the verdict is in three days!

I could be wrong, but it sounds like a Carrie Ann quote.

I feel very badly that Eden was taken by the fact that they were just trying to be generous to those who care.

My guess is those huge purchases are stocking someone's sex toy shop in an other country. Either that, or someone should keep an eye on sex toys for sale on Ebay and Craig's list. The company I rent and buy my breastfeeding supplies from had some clients of their LC's stealing pumps and nearly all of them turned up on Ebay. For well under the wholesale price of the products.

It would be worth the time for someone to look into it.

For sure.. That is if the order was even processed. I am sure with that amount a company could say hold the phone and not process. But then again, maybe not.

It really sucks that someone or multiple ones screwed this system up for everyone. I do use multiple gift cards that I receive from eden cafe or other submissions for my larger orders and only use points to cover tax.I hope that there will be a different protocol established that will allow for legitimate multi-card purchases in the future. If not, I see a lot of people not being able to purchase bigger ticket items.

Its always just one that screws it up for everyone else.

yay! I am glad you have figured out a fix for the gift cards we work hard to earn in other ways.

I agree with P'Gell that something needs to be done with the voting in advance reviewers. I never get a chance to vote for someone when I see a nomination, by the time I go to read the reviews they have done people have voted them in and more often than not the reviews are not good. I worked hard with my mentor to get my reviews up to scratch and it sucks that abusers are just voting in anyone without ever looking at the reviews.

Good to know this was fixed but I also like the idea of the Eden Point/GC bank because I have a couple cards sitting in my email from submitting to eden cafe and I'd really like to get them combined to my points or on one card just in case this issue rears its ugly head again.

Kinda sucks that the people who farm points almost ruined it for those who work hard writing stories and articles. I want a couple of the silicone vixskin dildos and my points are really going to help "soften the blow" when I order.

Good job all

So, Jaimes and I and a few others have taken the "gifting" of points into consideration. That is something we will work on as part of a long-term solution, too.

The only time the account comes into ... more
I actually owe another contributor some points, so I hope there will be a way to repay other contributors with points that is above-board in the future. I'm kicking myself for not doing this before the change.

I can understand why you've had to implement this though and am sorry to learn that there are people who abuse the point system to such an outlandish and unimaginable degree. Would it be possible for you to approve specific point-generated gift cards between known contributors though? The problem with the gift registry as a solution is that oftentimes the lent points are to buy a bigger ticket item that we cannot otherwise afford.

I'll bring the champagne, chilled of course. (It's about the only thing I drink except for the very rare shot of Jack Daniels when I have a sore throat. )

Good point, HSM.

I forgot to add that those who try to get Advanced while they are being mentored screw their hard working mentor out of his or her reward for her work! IMO, if a reviewer is working with a mentor, s/he shouldn't be allowed to put their name in for Advanced Reviewer via votes from the community.

I love that this thread, full of all this discussion about serious matters, has turned into a conversation about drinking.

I'm really glad that a solution for this has been found because otherwise I would have been unable to use a lot of gift cards that I have saved up through hard work and time spent here. I'm glad that I'll still be able to use them for a few big-order purchases I'm saving for.

Searches are 5 points, but it still doesn't matter.

I wish they would take points away for commenting on products; that is where I find all the stupid smileys. And I hate commenting on stuff because I feel like it looks like I am trying to get points when I really want to comment on something.

Plus I'm sick of seeing people going through and rating and commenting 10 things a day. It's obvious what they are doing.

I had a close call; I grabbed up a Coquette corset just now and I thought I was like .94 over--- I almost fruited

That would have royally sucked.
