Well, that will make sense. Maybe just don't allow people to use different points from different accounts on the same order?

That would prevent gifting people with points, but I don't think all that many people do it anyway.

This sounds more reasonable, though.

What if we have tiny money left over from other orders? That, from what I can see, will go to waste.

I'm confused.
One gift card per order right now. Just one. Until they get this fixed and everything.

That one gift card includes ones with points and from everything else.

Maybe an exception could be made. I would recommend contacting community advisers like Gary and JR on that one since they have more knowledge as to the community protocol.

Yeah, that's totally true!

I've seen some pretty bad abuses too.

To P'Gell and the rest of the community: Don't sweat this too much. The points program, from my point of view, is all icing on the cake. Reviewers still get their free monthly reviews and buy-out assignments. But seeing $1,000 - $5,000 orders being placed from Brazil and other parts of the world was just too much to ignore or make a special case for.

Take a breath...breathe...
This too shall pass

In the meantime, just bank your points until you're ready to place an order.

As a total aside, isn't it theoretically possible for a farmer to earn enough points to buy a physical GC and apply multiple codes to an order, thereby circumventing the system again?
That's an excellent point, but EdenPoints can't be used to purchase GCs. Should be covered (phew!)

OK. (pant pant pant)

Jeez, $5,000.00 orders from out of the country? Who is doing this? (OK, I KNOW you can't tell us, it's just a frustration question.)

I have seen a number of something fairly new. A new poster with mainly mediocre scores on their reviews EXCEPT for one person, who always votes their reviews EU and ONLY votes on their reviews. I've reported them in the past, and a few of them are still reviewing. OBVIOUSLY these people have multiple accounts.

I also think making the Advanced Reviewer Program a little more difficult to get into, AND restrict voting on Advanced Review Applicants to no more than 2 or 3 a month would help a LOT!

I still stand by having the option to add GCs to your account. It would make things so much easier for everyone.

By the way, how do we report suspicious activity? Someone is doing some obvious, over the top point farming at the moment.

Eeep. I'll be sending JR a message shortly. I just moved in with my GF, and she also has an account on here. At the moment, she is taking a break from reviewing, but is going to start again. I should probably fix that, huh?

Quick question, y'all....

What if we wanted to gift our points? Or like in the various Eden Gives Back events where we donate some points?

I'm not trying to play DA but I definitely do those things (well, not so much gift unless I'm having a giveaway or contest of some sort, i.e., the interview I'll be doing) and would like to know how that will be handled.

I like this.

I too am someone who uses multiple gift cards on an order.

This is a sticky situation. Maybe reviewers can apply for the ability to combine GC's? Then you will know who is serious about using them and who is simply point farming.

I love the idea of the points being used for purchase without GC transfer, and keeping the earned GC's in a separate account. I also earn gift cards and love saving them up for a pricier item to review. I love this site and the opportunity to review products and earn points for new products that I might not be able to afford otherwise. It completely toasts my butt to know that the abusers are trying to rip off a generous and giving site like Edens!!!! Thanks to the staff for working to help the honest and contributing site users the ability to continue to contribute and build the site! I usually go way over the daily limit in points and don't care about 'lost points' because there are many interesting threads, reviews and other things I enjoy commenting on, adding to and just having fun being a part of this site. I love writing and the opportunity to write articles and help others to enjoy the products and their body is a dream come true. The forum threads have taught me a lot as far as new ideas, let me know I am not the only one that feels or reacts to certain sexual issues and also have really helped me with issues I am dealing with or need advice on. Keep up the good work! I know you will find a way to work with the honest users and make everything fair.

Well, since we are going to be releasing something better for everyone, we aren't going to be adjusting the temporary fix. It will simply be temporary.

It's a shame that people abuse this system. This really screws up things for a lot of people. I hope you guys catch the abusers. I also hope the new system you put in place works well for everyone. Also, my roomie does reviews on here, and my other friend without internet comes over and was wanting to start doing reviews as well. I'm a bit worried that this might screw up my IP. Didn't think of that till today.

Any idea how long this "temporary" fix will be?

I'm not trying to complain or anything, I understand taking the time to fix this is necessary. I just don't want to be out on reviewing for a while because of this situation.

After next week, I will be out of items for my video reviews. I was planning on using my last five or six gift cards I was going to get to restock, so I didn't have to pay a bunch of extra shipping, and not be out of items to review. I'm going through alot at home, so the only way I was getting anything (other than monthly items) was through gift cards.

For example, there's an item I was going to buyout for review. After buyout, it would be around "$50 + shipping." I was going to use two video review gift cards + left over amounts on various gift cards + a points gift card. After rewarding myself with that more expensive item, I was going to buy a bunch of small things I had been wanting, on one order, that didn't have video reviews yet. Normally I wouldn't worry about just having to use one gift card at a time, but I was super excited about something I was planning on buying Friday ... and this just happens to coincide with me running out of video review items.

I honestly feel upset with myself, for letting myself splurge and buy items I wanted that didn't have video reviews. I'll be a sad panda if I run out of video review items because I finally let myself get stuff without video reviews. I guess I was counting too much on my "restocking order" lol.

I'm a teeny bit confused. So, say I have 6000 points (I don't). I can convert that ALL into a gift card and still use it? Or I can only use part of my 6000 points at a time. If the latter is the case, then I will only ever be able to use a certain amount of points at a time?

You can create a gift card with all of your points.

IF I'm understanding this all correctly:

No.

Until the changes take place, you will only be able to use one GC in an order. It doesn't matter if your GC is for $10 or $200. But only one.

When the changes take place, the points will be in an "account" for you to redeem at checkout, like you would if you had Affiliate commissions (I think?). Then any GCs you have that have been given to you for winning a prize or from turning in a video review can be used and stacked. You simply won't be able to convert your points into a card anymore. Just use them as credit.

I guess I could wait until I post up all four of my video reviews for the week, and then I could e-mail letting them know all four video reviews were posted. That way I could get one gift card, instead of four. Would this be an issue?

Hopefully they let you do that, otherwise I'm afraid this will make people stop doing as many video reviews.

Ahhhhh I wish I had read this before I just tried to place an order! Dangit. I had a $25 giftcard from winning a trivia contest at a EdenFilms meeting and I wanted to use that up, but then when I cashed some Points to cover the rest of my order, it didn't work because of this new system! Gah! So now I have even more small-amount cards that I can't use together because I just converted points to a GC, and I'm loathe to cash even more to cover the full amount in one big sum. This is very frustrating.

I'm really, really glad that I already placed the "big" (less than $200) order that I'd been working towards. I used nine different gift cards to pay for it, though only one was from redeemed points.

We were hoping to do that, too. There is a toy we want, but we were saving up points for it. I don't understand how using the gift cards together is any different than using them separately. Its still a redeemable points to toys transaction.

Okay, let's all get some perspective here!

I understand everyone's frustration we need to give them time to fix the programming on this for an entire community (THOUSANDS) of users who have points to use.

They've assured us that 1) it's TEMPORARY and 2) That they aren't going to screw over the "above the board" members of the community.

With that? These are sex toys. This isn't life or death. This isn't your grocery money or rent check they're messing with.

Don't get me wrong, I was right there with you guys as far as determining whether or not I'd EVER be able to use my GCs to pay for a full purchase again; but once that was answered, I'm cool. Just be a little patient. They're working as hard and as fast as they can. EF has an INTERNATIONAL reputation for being generous and fair to its contributors (and, again, THOUSANDS of contributors). They simply need to protect themselves against thieves.

I e-mailed the people this involves, and they, being awesome as always, came up with a good working solution. Basically at the end of the week, I will e-mail the links to the four video reviews I uploaded, instead of e-mailing after each video review. That way I end up with one large gift card at the end of the week, instead of four. This is very helpful for me as a video reviewer.
