Some of your newer products appear to be a softer silicone. Have you changed the silicone formulation on some of your products?

Just curious, is the new hardness for firmer or softer toys?

Mr E asked earlier, but I'm curious on a more technical level:
Talk about some of the challenges and rewards of producing your wares entirely in the US---this is something I'm very impressed with, and I'm very grateful for Tantus's commitment to quality. But it can't be all smiles and rainbows, or more companies would be manufacturing here. Are your materials suppliers near your manufacturing facility? What are some of the hardest aspects of domestic production? Is dealing with EPA and OSHA requirements time consuming?
And what keeps you committed? less

This is another kind of gray area, because sometimes you can get bags to store toys that have a waterproof coating that can cause issues. I recently heard from someone who stored her beloved Vamp in a specialized kind of bag, and the color from the bag's lining discolored her toy.

That said, I am a terrible Tantus toy owner and pile everything into a drawer. I have had no problems with them touching each other. But maybe I'm just lucky....hard to say.

Tantus has made a commitment to always produce in the US for several reasons. First, you can only obtain true quality control by being a part of production day in and day out. Second, Tantus has made a commitment to keeping jobs in the US. It also allows us to be a Green Manufacturer since we do not have to move product back and forth from oversees.

Hello everyone at Tantus. First let me say that I am a ginormous fan of your products and that I greatly appreciate that they are manufactured right here in the USA.
How have you resisted the competitive pressure to more operations overseas?

Our original idea was to bring safe quality toys to mass market. Silicone is the safest soft material for sex toys. We originally played around with doing acrylic pieces too- but we never got to it.

Aluminum is a great hard material, and I've always enjoyed hard toys- especially Inner Space (which is no more) and Njoy. We had an opertunity to design these and it seemed like a natural progression.

I can field this...CA is lovely but the cost of living there is quite high. The move to NV allowed Tantus to be able to pay a livable wage to employees and still remain competitive.

This meeting is just flying by so many good questions!

Have you considered opening your product line up to health care, I mean you’re using medical grade silicone already. There are medical dilators which you could easily produce that would open the Tantus name up to many people who might not have thought about your products before.

Pixel Kitten wanted to know if Tantus is coming out with any new colored toys soon? (especially seeing as how they just discontinued their copper color!)

Sure - but I am a huge cheerleader for the patch test. Takes five seconds, and keeps your toys in great shape.

I was curious whether Tantus has considered expanding its options for bullet vibes. The one-speed is ok, but it would be nice to have the option of upgrading to something more powerful/something with more variety. The RO-80 will fit in the hole but it's a bit too narrow to stay in well. Any plans to make or source bullets that fit the hole? It seems like a great way boost margins per toy as an upgrade option (like going for the turbo engine over the base engine in cars).

All of my silicone plugs get stuffed into a pouch and I have had no issues so far. Three of them are Tantus and the other two are from different manufacturers. Seems that most of the problems come from the softer silicones like 02 and supersoft.

It can bind to the silicone finish and cause the toy to become sticky discolored or warped. In the past few years I've noticed this happening less and less and I was wondering if it's the toy manufacturers or the quality of lube changing the results

question: actually i have another question about the silicone that tantus uses. i'm not sure how silicone is made or where it comes from, but i've seen a few toys that have advertised that the silicone is organic. is that possible?

I would love to see the B-bomb in other colors. Are they available or will they be?

Silicone comes from silica - which is essentially refined sand. So it's a very "green" option for sex toys.

"Organic" gives me the funniest mental image of a field with neon colored dildos growing. Like those self pick orchards, you could go and choose your own dildo. *snicker*

I usually use cloth storage bags and then wrap each toy in a cotton or linen handkerchief. Inexpensive and the toys don't touch each other. I get the hankies at a local second hand store. I suppose I could make nice white linen bags from the handkerchiefs, but I just wrap them.

I've had no problems with my toys turning colors, interacting or anything.
