How about you, Liz? What are your fantasy places?

Hawaii and Alaska top my list. I've been to Hawaii once (Maui) and hope sometime to use my memories as a setting for fiction. Alaska is still virgin territory as far as my memories are concerned, although I've done quite a bit of research and set a story there once.

That's from the King James. You're reading the NIV?
I'm flipping between NIV and American Standard (I love that Bible Gateway lets you choose your version at will )

I'd love to go to Egypt, South of France - Provence. And the Japanese countryside. I'm part Chinese as well - but never felt the urge to go there.
I'd also love to visit Egypt, but I haven't considered it safe to do so for years, and I don't see my opinion changing for the immediate future.

I have a great writer friend in New Zealand, but so far the only story she's given me with a definite NZ setting takes place mainly in a bar in Wellington. What regional ambiance there is is nice, but there isn't that much of it.

Yes Egypt isn't safe enough yet.

Well definitely both of those. I have always wanted to go to Alaska in the summer. I love the idea of 24 sunshine.

Other places would be Italy, New York, (I love cities. Hubby and I just spent a weekend in downtown Chicago, which is pretty close by.) anywhere by a beach. Nothing really on the rugged side. I'm definitely not the outdoorsy type. I prefer a nice hotel and a Starbucks very close by.

Unfortunately. Egypt is one of those places that has always been on my list. Also Italy, India, and Japan.

Actually, it's all I can do to pry some (very good) erotica out of my NZ friend. She'd rather write science fiction or horror. Maybe we all have a sense that where we live is too mundane to make an exciting setting, which is too bad. I do use the White Mountains of NH, where I spend my vacation time, as a setting, but not the area I live in year round, even though it's nearly as rural (and has it's share of bears and moose and wild turkeys.)

It's been absolutely great having Mitzi and Liz Langley in addition our wonderful host Sacchi, tonight. Can't wait to get together again... September 13th for Molly Weatherfield's Safe Word (the follow up to Carrie's Story) and then September 27th for Pride and Prejudice by Mitzi, of course!

I am taking emails for requests on reviews now, so you guys can go ahead and send in your requests. I will send out a reminder email to everybody this week and Liz will be posting more information on the books on the blog.

Have a great night everybody! See you next time!

It's been fun, but I have to squeeze in a workout before the day is over. Thank you Sacchi for being a fantastic host (as always), and to Mitzi and the writers who stopped by. See you all next time.

I only just noticed the counter at the bottom of this page that says we've had 17 unique posters. Well, of course we're unique! Thanks to all 17 of you for coming by. Now I wonder how many lurkers we get who don't post. I wonder what we could use to lure them out?

Or maybe they just aren't there at all. I'm prepared to believe that our discussions are so seductive that no one reading here could resist joining in!

I do wish there were a counter to tell hoe many people are reading, as well as how many post. Then I'd know whether everyone had gone away now!

I'm off, too, now, but if anyone's left here, feel free to play among yourselves. And post about it. I'll be checking later.

G'night!

I am so annoyed that I had to miss this meeting to have dinner with my in-laws. It was a great meeting. If I had known that Mitzi Szereto, herself, was going to be here, I might have blown off my mother-in-law and come to the meeting instead. Actually, I wouldn't have since she is beginning chemo treatments for breast cancer, but I would have thought about it. Does that make me a bad person?
