#EdenCooks - Cinnamon Rolls - Monday, Nov 19, 8pm EST

Contributor: Antipova Antipova
Welcome to the November Meeting of Eden Cooks! In honor of colder weather making baking a good alternative to all the outdoor activities you used to do in the summer, and because I need to perfect my cinnamon roll recipe before I visit family in December, we're taking a real close look at Cinnamon Rolls this month! Not just dense "bread with cinnamon frosting"---really good, tender, soft, delicious cinnamon rolls that don't even need frosting. Join me to learn a few baking tips, and share some of your own!

Eden Cooks is a cooking club for any interested members of the Eden community. We will meet on the forum to discuss everything from tips and pointers for less well-equipped kitchens, explanations of cooking terms, and important techniques. There will be a featured recipe each meeting, with pictures taken as I prepare it for you. I will cover some ingredient substitutions to make each recipe more friendly to people with dietary restrictions.

The meeting will take place on the EdenFantasys forum in this very thread at 8 pm EST on Monday, November 19th. I'm hoping you will all love these cinnamon rolls, and maybe even help on my quest to perfect them!

Hehehe... my coworkers didn't leave any leftovers, though! D: Good thing I will be making another batch soon...

(And I should add, you feel really proud when you have 4 coworkers and a dozen cinnamon rolls, and there are still no leftovers )

Welcome to the November meeting of Eden Cooks! As everybody trickles in, does anyone have any family members who are impossible to buy gifts for?

My grandfather, so he usually just gets a bag of peanut M&Ms. He has everything he wants and if he doesn't, he buys it for himself.

My dad is definitely that way. But this year, I kind of lucked out---he asked for cinnamon rolls as his Christmas gift. He said "Nobody makes cinnamon rolls the way (chef) at (out-of-business-for-1 5-years-local-restaura nt) made them. If you buy them in a store, they are just bread with cinnamon frosting. Your mother's are soft but they don't rise enough. Figure out how to make them perfect, and you don't have to worry about finding me a present.

So not only do I have an excuse to bake a million cinnamon rolls to practice, I don't have to worry about buying a gadget! Just a whole lot of cinnamon

My dad is impossible. I just always seem to miss the mark. For his 50th birthday last year I got him a canadian zippo and had his initials engraved on it and that actually was the first time I've ever seen a smile on his face when opening a gift. Ever. It felt great! I'll never be able to top that now.

My husband is hard to buy for. In the past several years, though, we've bought a joint gift that we'll both enjoy. He also likes when I make him weekend shorts, especially linen ones.

Somewhat, although it evolves a little over time. Some people are busy evenings and can never make it, though.

I like them being in the evenings. It's harder to do the clubs during the day because my children are up.
