I think this would be a great option. It allows people to make a donation even if they don't want to buy one of the featured items.

Agreed. But what if there was some sort of registry set up. Like a gift registry. you pay online and the item is picked up. Know what I mean?

We can always be the middle-man shipper. BUT let's keep this simple and do-able.

Oh I've seen that on other sites, where there is a product that you purchase, but it's actually just funds being donated to whatever. I think that could work and might make a lot of people more apt to donate a little. I know the little cards at check outs in the stores get me, so this would be like the same thing. When you're already placing an order what's an extra $1-5!

Could points be used on this or gcs? or would it have to be from a bank account?

I think that this would be a great way for people who weren't interested in any of the products for whatever reason (like if Pipedream, for example, was doing the promotion with their Icicles line and I've got all of the Icicles, I wouldn't want to buy them again) to participate and donate.

This sounds fantastic! Then more people will have a chance to donate, and more people (and animals ) will be helped. You guys are awesome. Truly.

The main thing here is, are you comfortable with manufactures being involved. Because everything else would work pretty much like the adopt a family. Someone find an organization to help, and that is where the proceeds will go.

I think it's great if the manufacturers want to donate as well.

I like this, I am a bit worried that a given manufacturer may not carry products that month that I could not use, for what ever reason, but I still could help out. This would make me happy.

That is a wonderful way to keep everyone involved with the process I really like the pictures and video thing, I will be adding them into my family post as well, and I think it will be wonderful for everyone else to be able to see what an impact these types of things will make!

And let me tell you.. THE MANUFACTURERS NOTICED WHAT WE'RE DOING HERE! We did NO blasts or press releases or anything... it was all DIY grassroots style fundraising..but they want to be a part of it. They took notice of our actions.

I don't see why it'd be a problem, but I don't know if I'm just missing something, you know? Like is there a reason why some people would not be comfortable with it?
