So, after "liking" a few products from Eden on FB, I noticed that my pagan friends were supportive when they found out I was doing sex-toy reviews and we had interesting private conversations about various areas of sex. However, only one of my non-pagan friends was okay with it, several had negative things to say, and one deleted me off facebook as she didn't want to see sinful objects on her wall (she was referencing a pair of silk cuffs from Lelo i bought and reviewed, though all she saw was i liked the cuffs.)
I'm an interfaith minister, my personal views are pagan but not to any one path. I go to many events, both pagan and non, and have noticed similar constraints in non-pagan communities, and (generally) more open (and in my opinion healthier) views on sex and masturbation within pagan events. (Example: The last week-long pagan festival I went to had a "condom fairy" walking about occasionally, handing out free condoms to adults for safe sex if they forgot to bring some.)
So that makes me wonder how many people here are from the pagan community, and what sort of experiences you've had when discussing sex with members of other faiths or your own. less

Pagan here, though I don't belong to a coven, my family practices on our own. BTW, Blessed Early Yule to you all!

As a polyamorous pagan I truly resent the inference that in order to be pagan you must be open and promiscuous...that's patently ridiculous! 'All acts of love and pleasure' doesn't mean you must go out and have sex with everyone who breathes it means all acts, as in even the monogamous ones! I resent the inference that because we believe in the union of the Gods that homosexuality has no place in Wiccan or Pagan belief....soooo not the truth. Anyhow, I agree that it seems that some groups are taking being open a bit too far, we don't need anymore flaming witch wars ESPECIALLY over what goes on in someone's bedroom!

Green Egg magazine a few years ago had a series article on polyamory, plural marriage, etc. going on for like 12 issues & I felt like "Okay, I get it already!"
I've not had a ton of contact with other Pagans in group situations due to location, but the times I have, I always felt like many were people I wouldn't want to associate with. There are plenty of Pagans out there I click with, but they tend to be a bit less "out." I think a lot of the super-public people haven't gotten over the whole "Oooh, I'm Pagan! I'm such a rebel! Everyone pay attention to me!" thing. less

I'm spiritual in that I believe that the body has a soul and there is a creator and purpose in life, but I'm not religious. It may sound like splitting hairs but I don't subscribe to any one religion or religious text, so I avoid describing myself like that.

Yay! My people!
Just a humble little pagan here. I enjoy defining my own practice and path without anyone else's influence.

I don't practice an organized religion. I believe what I believe, and it doesn't really fit into what any specific 'religion' practices.

I used to be into pagan practices and Wicca and such years ago, but right now, I'm not religious or practicing anything.

*raises hand* Pagan here! No specific deity, really. Although I felt the need to give the Flying Spaghetti Monster some poll love. As for noticing more openness towards sexuality, it has been my pagan friends who have jumped on my associat code discount here the most. Also, my one fellow pagan at work and I are probably two of the most open about sx in my workplace. I think paganism tends to come with a pretty open minded outlook and positivity towards sex.

No, but I have a friend who's pagan.
Three, kind of, but only one of them I consistently see/ talk to.
I sympathize with some of what that friend says, but aren't 100% into it and don't know a lot of details about it

Nope, I'm a proud believer in a single deity!

I view myself as generally spiritual, with my ideals falling closest to Wiccan, but I'm mostly non-practicing. I'm a solitary practitioner when I do, and my formal rituals are few and far between.

I'm Not Religious, But I Do Have Certain Views Which Mostly Overlap With Pagan And Buddhist Beliefs.
