Period Play - Do You?
03/02/2013
The blood doesn't stop us, but if I feel lousy and not in the mood then it doesn't happen.

I play solo while on my period, not sure if I would have sex during it or not.
03/05/2013
I have with solo play and being drunk and having sex either way it wasn't fun

I usually bleed really heavily a few days out of my period and during that time, I don't usually want to have sex. My husband doesn't care- he eats me out while I'm on my period, even. I find that once I get past the heaviest part of my bleeding, I am usually pretty horny, but sex seems to increase the bleeding for a short period of time. We just throw down a towel or mat and go to it. They make soap and water for a reason.

I'm fine with both solo and sex. My boyfriend is totally cool with it and having an orgasm helps to relieve pain from cramps.

Nothing happens for me during that week. My partners & I both know it is something that happens naturally & none of us are grossed out from it, however I just feel better not engaging in sex during that time.
Now I will say I don’t mind clit play but anything being inserted is off limits.

How about the cramps? I've noticed that orgasms really help to cope with them.

Twin Flame
No, we’re not into that. She takes that time to reflect, but the blow jobs are awesome!

What springs to mind is something that I'd long forgotten. I was a young man then and my GF had come over one afternoon and so we were enjoying one another. During my cunilingus session with her she'd had multiple orgasms (I've always really liked that) but her pussy started to taste a bit different. I raised my head to catch my breath and look at her... She looked back at me with an expression of horror. There was blood on my face and I had inadvertently just earned my "Red Wings". That poor girl apologized again and again she was so embarrassed. I of course reassured her that it wasn't a big deal and that I still loved her dearly.

Your story just reminded me of an ex of mine. He had a weird fascination about wanting to lick/suck on my clit when I was on mine. Of course he'd always wait until we were buzzed/drunk and we would be at a friends house and he'd take me into the bathroom and just pull my shorts down and go at it.

I enjoyed it but always thought it was slightly awkward. It's not something I'd do with my husband lol.

Honestly, my male partners always seemed less grossed out by my period than I was. They seemed to pretty much just view it as red lube, and weren't slowed down by it in the slightest.
I'm generally down for sex and/or masturbation on my period, so long as I'm in the mood....which I'm often not, at least for the first three or four days of my period, just because I'm feeling crampy and bloated and unsexy (too unsexy to even get myself off at times). But so long as I'm not feeling shitty, I don't let my period get in the way of a good time. I always put down a towel or throw before any kind of sexy time (even solo sessions), just because I prefer to not have to be constantly changing my bedsheets, so that makes the period mess much more manageable.
I've recently started using menstrual discs instead of pads or tampons, and supposedly you can have sex while wearing one, since they sit right up by your cervix, and not lower in the vaginal canal like a tampon or cup. I haven't yet had the chance to test out using a toy while wearing a disc, but I intend to try when my next period hits. I'll let you know how it goes! It seems like it would do away with a lot of the issues with messiness, and I've already noticed that I'm less crampy when using a disc as opposed to a tampon. Everything else about the disc has worked pretty much as advertised, so I'm optimistic about trying it during sex (or in my case, penetrative masturbation). Does anyone else use menstrual discs, and if so, have you tried having sex or using an insertable toy while wearing it?

I am a female and do not view menstruation in the least bit as dirty or gross. A lot of people, especially mean, freak when you even mention your cycle! That comes off to me as very immature. I don't expect all men to be happy to hear about periods, but when you have a female partner, you need to get used to it. It is a reality for us and it's crazy to be grossed out by it. I don't see a big deal about avoiding sex or masturbation during that time.
For me, my periods are a curse. Seriously. The last thing I could do during mine is sex. I've got a health condition though, that makes mine so miserable. I've gotten a lot better now that I take medication to stop my cycle, but I still have the symptoms, just no... bleeding. Sorry for that. SO I can handle sex and sometimes even enjoy it on my period, but I rarely feel like doing it. Before I had the surgery and meds, I wouldn't be able to leave the house for 2 weeks out of the month and our sex life suffered because I couldn't hardly do it without being in real pain. Now it's better, but it's not the blood part that would gross me out or bother me--it's the pain and just extreme symptoms I have during that time.
As for the blood part, my partner never cared to do ANYTHING while I was. He was still just as happy. I tend to start a mini period every time we get rough so blood happens a lot, only a small amount, but he doesn't care. He says there's no reason to be disgusted by it, which makes me happy because I hate when men freak over the word period or tampon. He's not that way.
I understand the messyness being a pain, and if a woman feels badly or has periods accompanied with pain, I don't think she should ever feel that her own period is gross. It's not. It's not like your pooping! Lol. I think we should be more comfortable with the the reality here that females do go through not-so-gorgeous things. I think too many people view the vagina as less than clean and that should change. If you simply just don't like the blood or feel it's too messy or you don't want to feel like you're causing the female pain, that's totally understandable. I get that. I ust don't think anybody should see it as unclean.
Since I don't have a real period (thank you Jesus!) this doesn't affect my sex life anymore, besides the symptoms around that time. However, since my partner doesn't view me as unclean or gross while I'm menstruating (or when I USED to) I was fine as long as there was no pain. I don't love it or the mess, but it wouldnt deter me from gettin' some! LOL less

My girlfriend is not against sex on such days, I also do not feel anything repelling me from this process.
