It depends on how warm you want the toy to be. If you just want to take the chill off so it won't feel cold when it's inserted, you can use warm water. If you want it to actually feel warm during use, you can use hot tap water. And of course you need to make sure not to make it too hot to the point that it could burn you, but most peoples tap water shouldn't get that hot.

You don't want it too hot. If you can't touch it with your hands, don't insert it.

I agree, it depends on how hot/warm you want the toy to be. I like my glass hotter than my man does, so 150 wouldn't be insane for me, because I like it when the toys leave a little bit of a red mark on my skin. We always start off with using the toys EXTERNALLY so this is okay, but for internal use, I would never put it in water that hot. I'd be sure to put it in one of the lower temperatures. Usually I just turn the water on 'hot' and put the toy in my sink and let the water run over it. I just feel it every couple of minutes until I like how hot it is.

My guy, on the other hand, likes it a lot less hot, closer to just warmed. He prefers it when we put it in a bowl of ice water lol

I don't take the temperature of the water or anything, but I just rinse it in hot water until it feels warm enough for me.

A pan of warm water from the tap works for me. Just make sure to check the temp on the inside of your arm before use, burnt insides are NOT fun.

Usually I use anything which is just under hot in the sink, but never boiling.

We just place the glass in our bedside heating pad and take the chill off - she doesn't like it hot - she just doesn't want it cold - except for the occasional hot summer night change of pace.

Definitely do not heat that high! Only warm water will work. Like lukewarm water.

warm water for about 10 minutes should do the trick... always test it on the inside of your wrist, like you would a baby bottle, before use. don't want to burn up your precious bits!

100 degrees Fahrenheit is slightly above body temperature, so that's perfect.

150 sounds painful, don't hurt yourself! D: 100 sounds just fine, I wouldn't go much higher, that's sensitive skin down there!

We use a heating pad next to our bed. Well before we start messing around I wrap it in the pad, put it on medium to medium-high, and leave there for at least 20 minutes or so. Keeps you from having to interupt things to run to the bathroom to heat it up in water.

Keep in mind that the final toy temperature depends on the mass and material of the toy as well as the mass and temperature of the water. A small amount of boiling water and a big glass or metal toy will give you a warm toy.

Water is good because it prevents hot spots, but still always test first.

FWIW I usually run under hot water or microwave in a glass of water. If using the microwave be careful not to burn yourself.
